Honestly, this should be tied, even with how poorly we've played. 2 great saves for Montreal. Terrible start. EDIT: in response to george, my bleak view is how poorly we move through the midfield and just longball it every time.
That's the usual.. He's not exactly a young player. If he was an MLS lifer, would we expect him to figure it out?
This game has the worst start of the year The worst finishing of the year The best play of the year And the best points of the year very Pablo
Bobby wood needs to go play with the monarch’s for a week or two He has no business being in the starting lineup or even gameday roster against houston
I'm guessing Wood was gassed and not feeling too confident? Great 3 points! Next time, let's not take a direct kick to the genitals to start, mmmkay?
On the other end That was the best soccer played all year The interchange and overall play was fantastic. Pablo can’t put the ball in the net so no blame goes on him, cordova finished the hardest of the chances, of course
He did put in some good defensive work. All the attacking players need to work on their finishing and decision making.
Nah These points were against the best team in the east and being the better team without any snow or what not playing into the result. The response in NE was very impressive, but this whole game (even with that start) was the best I’ve seen in 2022 didn’t mean it to sound like individual play but that flick to cordova was absurd
I’m happy to see him bust his ass on the defensive side of the ball, but he’s not getting paid a mil to do the work of Pablo Ruiz. He had 3 absolutely clear cut chances and has to score at least 2 of them - I’ll give him a slight pass on the header because the save was great - but to miss from the top center of the 6 at this level is inexcusable. To try to lay off a 1v1 from the top of the 18 with the gk is a sign of just how bad his form is
Yes, the general effort, OFF BALL MOVEMENT, and chance generation was great, which speaks to leadership and growth in our tactical togetherness. This pot-luck amalgamation of youthful vigor (Loeffelsend, Herrera, Brody, Glad, Schmitt, Ruiz, Cordova etc) and Veterans who want to win (Wood, Meram, McMath etc) and a coaching philosophy of grit (Pablo) is ... kinda working. This feels like a foundational year (2007), but the trend is nice...and how good was Glad's header - or Cordov'a blast? Both were ********ing unstoppable. This game had we're-gonna-give-points-away written all over it and yet RSL found a way to beat the 3rd place team in the East on the road? WTF? BEERS!
