Well Frankie this is your chance to try out a new formation 4-4-2 with one defensive midfielder. With Pause out 4 to 6 weeks :(, playing a horrible team and playing at home it's time to try it. Because for some reason with Pause being healthy that you would of never tried it.

    --Fernandez-------------------Nyarko--
    -----------------Pardo--------------------

    --Segares--Berry--Friedrich--Anibaba--

    ------------------Johnson------------------

Pappa's playing on Wednesday I don't think Frankie starts him, but he could come in as a sub for Nyarko, Alex or Fernandez.

Johnson also with the Nat'l team midweek, don't know if that will make a difference.
Barouch too, though that shouldn't matter at all.

Other than that, flip Alex and Flaco. I think Alex looks better when he plays wide.

I wonder if Jurgen will give Johnson a half. Some Azteca experience might be good for him.

Videira played 90, Bone played 77 and Paladini played 68, so it should be intresting if any of them start Saturday's game. Alex played only 38 minutes, doesn't say anything about an injury, so maybe Frankie is going play a 4-4-2 with one defensive midfielder.

I hope it looks something like this.

    ------Rolfe-------------MacDonald-----
    ----------------Alex-----------------------
    --Fernandez-------------------Nyarko--
    -----------------Pardo--------------------

    --Segares--Berry--Friedrich--Anibaba--

or as Salvatore Giuseppe said switching Alex and Fernandez.....

PS Kinney played 60 minutes, so looks like Kinney might be back in he mix also, he could push Anibaba and Gargan (Right side of the defense).

Pappa played 77 minutes in the friendly last night. Which was in RFK Stadium (I had just assumed it was out of the country). Given that, I wouldn't be surprised if he started, or at least played big sub minutes, Saturday. Afterall, if you cant play every 4 days, you should retire, right?

5 bucks that he just starts Paladini in Pause's place.

Pretty sure it'll be either Videira or Paladini along with Pardo in the midfield. Videira got into the game in Philadelphia, so maybe he's more likely.

Might save Alex for a sub on the wing.

It'll be interesting to see how the defense reacts to Pause ... not being there.

But, the bigger question for me is whether Frankie adds a forward, or another CDM...on the offensive side of things, Pause was open alot, and I don't think other teams ever had a game plan that included marking Pause on the offensive side (unless a forward happened to wander into Pause's area of the field) they would pretty much leave him unmarked...if we add a forward to the mix, it might help us keep possession further up the field, and that will give the defense some help too...because sometimes the best defense is a good offense.

And, conversely, sometimes the best offense is a good defense. :D

Is Section 8 doing another tailgate before the game? Is that something they do before every home match? If so I might come join you guys again.

Other than stopping by to say hi to people, I haven't been to a S8 tailgate in years. How does it work with the food and beer? Do you just pony up or do you buy food and drink as needed? I feel like I should know this, but I don't believe that Don Crafts is there collecting money anymore, is he? :D

He may be, but it's not affiliated with S8C. ;)

It's all donation. Drop in some cash, make the cooks happy.

Los Comales are a much loved part of the Fire fan family, big time fans with a whole lotta heart. They've been partnering up with Section 8 for same great tailgates for the last few years and it's always a great success.

I almost always give them my business before weekday games because of the first time they did the Section 8 tailgate. They're very appreciated and much loved by myself.

    Done.
