ARGH! I could get you a discount at iParty- if I were home! But here's a coupon: http://www.iparty.com/promotions/coupon_page.asp I believe their 89c regularly and are often on sale for 49c. Also a hint: if you want more, just ask- the store I work at has HUGE bins in the back, we barely ever run out of any color. I think most other stores might work the same way. Come May, I'll try to drop them off for you on my way to volunteering! Have fun!
More questions: Is there a beer store nearby? Not sure if I want to try to bring some in on the T. Will there be scarfs for sale at the tailgate?
Jackie will be posting a map or location of our tailgate shortly...we will be set up right next to the stadium. People that want to join us will have to park in the regular lots and walk over to our location... Absolutely.
I know there are quite a few people taking the T to the game, so if someone that plans on driving wants to be super cool and have some extra cooler space that would rock.
I already have that covered! Will have at a minimum of 3 coolers in my car at the tailgate spot with ice only so people can keep the beverages cold. We don't, to my knowledge, have any canopies though and it is going to be a very wet day. Bring a raincoat everyone.
As of Tuesday night I think we had about 6,000 sold. I have no doubt we could have been much closer to 10k if the weather had cooperated. We do have a busload coming from the northern most part of Maine, according to Andy, at a time frame of 7 hours each way!
WHDH says: Morning and early afternoon rain. Rain should wind down around 2pm or so...then clouds will slowly break after that. Chilly with highs only in the mid 40s That doesn't sound too terrible.
Accuweather is predicting rain all day I can ask Julie if I can borrow her conopy, she's going to be out of town and could drop it off at my house, but seeing as I don't have a car, sommebody who does (and somebody who plans on getting there right at the start of the tailgate!) would need to pick me up from my house and drive me and the canopy to the stadium. I live really close to the stadium; not close enough, however, to carry a canopy there.
Oh, and Ann, the closest liquor store I know is on JFK just before Harvard Square, probably about a 10 minute walk from the stadium (Doma Liquors, 56 JFK St)
boston.com and the National Weather Service websites both say rain ending in the morning, very slight chance of showers afternoon/evening.
I don't trust weather forecasters anymore than I'd trust Michael Jackson to run a childs daycare center. I do hope the rain ends by 2 or so. Either way I'll have a dry change of clothes for after the game just in case!
Still curious as to where the parking lot is. What time will you guys be arriving? If it's early, I'll take the 3:00 train from Lowell. If not, I'll take the 5:00 train. Memberships, in addition to scarves, will be available I'm assuming?
Memberships are always available. Jackie, Julie and I will be there for 3 along with the chosen six cars for our VIP lot. Apparently the lot is right next to the stadium gate and you have to walk through it to get into the stadium.
Well, I hope there won't be any rain, but in case there is, I did get the canopy from Julie, so if it looks like rain and somebody wants to swing by Market St to pick it up we'll have a second canopy.
