    hmmm

we seem to be starting really slowly in the last two games and really only coming to life 10 minutes or so *after* we're scored on. weird.

i think a draw was fair, and the point is important. i didn't think we'd get anything from these first two matches so i'm pleased.

i do think we got more than our fair share of blown calls today... oh well.

    ANOTHER DRAW ????!!!!!!!!

The first 30 minutes, we STUNK!!!

SOS-our midfield play was NON-EXISTENT!! (why is it that everytime we have possession, it seems like there's NO room, but when our opponents have possession, they have time & space to have a freakin' cup of coffee??!!)

We settled down after the first 30 minutes & had our chances to get three points.

GREAT distribution & vision by Gato & TERRIFIC finish by Ruiz on the goal.

Surprised not to see Hong start, or play at all.

No Cien or Glinton?? What's Sigi thinking??

Cobi had three SOLID chances & couldn't finish!! However, I liked his effort & hustle!!

All in all, a fair result. However, I'm getting tired of OT games & draws. Let's hope we get THREE points, VERY soon!!!!

Hmm. I don't think it was a fair result. But LA played smart, did not really deserve to tie or win (therefore the result wasn't "fair".)

But hey, that's why they are defending champs...

I'm someone who used to shamelessly cheer for Graz, so I think I know disgusting divers when I see them, and maybe I'm the last guy in America to come to the realization, but jesus! Ruiz is a disgusting whining little prick.

You guys are lucky to have him.

I don't know. If he's only going to score once per game we are not going to win a lot this year.

Cobi close to mid-season form. When he gets his timing down, he'll begin hitting woodwork rather than missing the goal with his shots.

    I think that one-on-one w/ Countess should've been a one-timer instead.

We are repeating last season's trend of going to OT, but this time we're not prevailing. It would be a weird setback if we came home with just 8 points.

i noticed that too, but 8 points on the road, from this road trip, would be a good result i think.

does anyone else think we're overconfident? the last two (maybe three, didn't see necaxa) we started so slowly, and we're so bad, it almsot felt like we've bought the hype about us winning the MLS cup again this year.

I think the Galaxy have done alright thus far on the road. Remember, they are the only MLS team with an above-.500 record on the road in the eight-year MLS history, and so far in two games, they managed to at least draw - something we should still be content with, if not overly impressed.

The Dallas result is good, when you consider this was LA's third game in eight days. Just the usual game summary; Hartman was his good old-self at goalie, Lalas poked away any Dallas opportunities in the box, and Ruiz converted when needed. Cobi should have converted his chance, but give him time and he will be the one guiding our team again as he did for stretches after the '02 WC and through the playoffs.

The Galaxy usually make their strides as the season winds down. It definitely helps that we are getting eight road games out of the way, as I feel the Depot will give the Galaxy a true atmosphere and advantage against opponents.

I understand teams are "gameplanning" for Ruiz, and thereby taking away some of his danger, but could we please get ONE midfielder who can take someone one-v-one besides Cobi?!?!

Imagine if Ruiz actually was given more than ONE freakin' chance pere game consistently. Mid boggling.

It gives me no pleasure to say this, but our midfield may be the worst and most overrated in MLS.

We are really missing a creative midfielder. We are so used to the attack going through Cien, and no one on the team has filled that role. We need the Cien of 96-2000. The current version doesn't cut it.

What about moving Cobi to center attacking mid? He looked pretty good there a few games last year.

    Grow up quick Memo!

Did cien and Glinton call sigi a FAT F(_)CK?

I am puzzled by his decision not to use Cien the last 30 minutes of the Dallas match.

Did he call sigi something and sigi over heard it and is now punishing cien by not letting him on the pitch again, probably to make him retire immediately.

Our midfield is as bad as i've ever seen it. Califf has always been in my dawghouse. but i am putting those limp D*cks... ( Elliott & Victorine ) in it now.

Could these 2 retards do any less and still be wearing a professional soccer jersey?

Ezra can only be effective if Cien is in the game with him... old or not, possesion and passing is the key to the Galaxy success. something Vaegnas, Elliott and Victorine have limited to no ability at.

More and More I see Carlos Ruiz as the Kobe Bryant of MLS... And i am glad we have him. For if we didnt have him, we would be the floormat of this league.

Quote from Sigi - "We really sat back too much. We were zoning too much, we gave them too many opportunities time and time again."

Gee, think the 80 degree weather with near 70 percent humidity had anything to do with that?

Okay. I'm already tired of hearing how tired the players are after 3 games in 8 days with travel.

1- It'a the beginning of the season! Suck it up and go stones out!
2- You are professional freakin' athletes!

We sat back and defended because our midfield CANNOT take anyone on one-v-one and attack. We boot it up, they take it from Ruiz, who's going 1-v-4 and they maintain possession. Ugly.

Slowest midfield in the league? Your MLS Champion LA Galaxy. Go figure.

So do we have anyone who can replace Elliot and Victorine then? Those two are not being efficient. Even Albright is looking a little bettter than them and that's saying a lot!

Make no mistake, I'm happy that we drafted Memo, because he is the future in the middle.

This season, I still believe Cien's lack of speed doesn't hurt us, because Elliott is about as slow.

A line up featuring this in the mid:
    Hong

    Vagenas
    Albright Cien Jones

could be useful with Moreno and Ruiz up top.

Although I do not know much about him, isn't Retiz a left midfielder... he certainly could NOT do a worse job of defending than Victorine. Evidenced by watching Vaca and Bonseu have all that space all day. I am at a complete loss as to why Victorine in over on the left (actually, why he is even on the field) his crosses were weak, looping air balls to nobody. He does not have the ability to take on defenders 1 v 1. I have NEVER been able to figure out what strength he brings to warrant his seemingly irreplacability.

Ezra did not do much better on the right, I personally feel Victorine and Ezra are both defensive liabilities... and after watching Dallas have pretty much free roam down either flank... I have not changed that opinion. I think Vagenas should be here or possibly Albright, who actually plays well here, I just wish Albright's crosses were better.

I also think Elliott is better served as a d-mid... in any case, I think it is obvious that midfielder is in need of some tinkering.

Victorine has the demonstrated ability to trap the ball. Beyond that, the guy is A-League or next transfer to the Quakes.

Maybe, but one of our recent Quake transfers has more goals than anyone on LAG except Carlos.

I think APC is going to take the reins. Once he adjusts to the pressure, Cien will pass the baton to him.

    Just my 2¢

Sigi's an idiot! Not starting Cienfuegos is like not starting Etcheverry for DC United. The Galaxy is Cienfuegos team not Sigi's! Who does he think he is? Cienfuegos is the general here who controls the stayle of play. Sigi's lack of coaching ability is starting to show. He won the MLS CUP last year based on Ruiz, but Ruiz had better distribution from Cienfuegos as oppose to what he has to work with now which is nothing!

As you see Sigi start to take more control of the team you'll notice their level of play significantly drop to a very choppy and aggressive tackling style.
