I've been saying it but Franchino is not bad. He's a pitbull and does not give up easily.

I just hope Nagamura does not play. That guy is nasty. I think he leads the League in cards.

What's amazing is that Jesse Marsch's name isn't on that list.

You right, Still. Jesse tends to be a nasty player as well. Remember last year when he went after Beckham. I thought Becks was gonna kick his ass. Even Jesse did not expect that reaction.

I too hope Franchino gets to start. The day Franchino gets a goal, especially coming from Becks' pass, he will a happy camper.

Can anyone honestly say they didn't want to see Becks put his forehead through Marsch's nose? Honestly? Even though he'd have been banned for weeks?

We should get back to winning ways against Cheapass. Hope we get a new defender in the next few days.

I would have loved to see Becks do that. Probably, Jesse thought that because Becks is a star, he was not gonna react that way.

I am willing to get on a plane to Argentina, making a stop in Honduras, to pick up our defenders and have them here ready for our next match... anyone with me?

OK, just reviewed the highlights from our 5-2 asskicking of Chivas some weeks ago . . .

NOTABLE --

1 -- Klejstan's a little bitch and so's their little winger who wears his hair like Sideshow Bob
2 -- X showed himself as altogether hopeless last time, gifting the chances leading to both their goals. Maybe he's back on drugs . . . did he get Quaranta's old locker maybe?
3 -- Gordon outjumped Guzan, scoring the eventual winner and kept his job for another year. He also got the last touch to get the official credit for our 5th goal . . . Nick Hornby wrote in FEVER PITCH about some former Arsenal player who had a reputation for doing same.
4 -- Donovan again showed he's the class of the league, he's always up to play these guys. Becks likes this rivalry too. I think Franchino looks forward to mixing it up, will probably kick somebody just for fun.

Other news --

Cronin played very well against the Revs. I criticize him all the time but I hope he's finding a groove.

Can Little Fish get more than the 5 minutes he got last night? Is that allowed in Sexy Football?

I just watched Chivas play & I didn't think they were all that impressive against lowly San Jose (who I actually thought played pretty well, for SJ). But with our defense, I'm sure we'll give them a few chances.

Suarez & the rest of the backline looks vulnerable, although Guzan is playing very strong. Let's hope Landon is back from his illness & Ruud can pull some kind of strategic magic. A change in the starting line-up is called for after the last 3 games.

I also watched the game on TV. Chivas looked very decent on corner kicks (aerial threat). Razov's freekick which gave Chivas the game winning goal was Beckhamesque/beautiful. Klesjtan wasted a couple of clear chances.

San Jose did have their chances, but didn't/couldn't capitalize. I was rooting for San Jose because of the standings.

If all of our LAG players are healthy, we should beat Chivas.

Man oh man, with all the crap I've been talking around the neighborhood, I really need the team to win this one. It's one thing to keep losing to eastern conference teams, it's quite another to lose the script at home against the derby rivals.

Also... I hope Ruiz plays and has a good game, ending trade speculation. Not that I think he merits his spot due to current form, but if they did trade him, wouldn't the FO be admitting that they made a mistake in reacquiring him in the first place instead of reinforcing the defense like they should have? The guy was hurt.. I say, don't put him in for five minutes, but give him a a real chance before making any final decisions

That's also been my complaint. Ruiz has not been given the benefit of the doubt yet. Playing him 5 minutes here or 15 there does not cut it.

Yes, but why just kick their kicker? Put Gallindo or Mendoza on the grass a couple times and Marsch will then pop up. Franchino can definitely set a certain tone for this game, he's made a career of doing it for the Revs.

Not saying your wrong but I think there are too many changes to your lineup given that we didn't necesarily deserve to get beaten against the Revs and if we could have just defended two relatively easy set-pieces we would have won, but thats just my opinion.

I'd just make one or two changes and tweak the system a little bit

Randolph is the type of winger who produces only once or twice a game, but if he can just get the chance to run against a full-back chasing the ball rather than dribbling he'll more than likely win the race and his crossing isn't bad for a hastily converted defender.

Xavier can sit back and play sweeper, with Franklin doing his running for him, so X can control the back four. That would play to some of his strengths while avoiding the weakness he exibited against NE where he stepped up with the line and lost out for pace every time. He's still a good defender, but he can't just be told "X you're playing CB" he has to be shown where to be and how to react all the time to keep him from getting caught too far forward.

If Ruiz is fit he should play, frankly Gordon deserves to be droppped. I also think that Pires could be a good defensive ball winning midfielder, and that Donovan playing behind two forwards would be awesome. Even if thats not the formation, I'd still pick that XI and still have X as sweeper.

I agree with you about X,let him sit back and Sean do the running for him.
He is older man he can't run for 90 min.X is not a lazy player but he has to think about his age(sometime)Let all the younger players do the marking,checking and running.He will be the last guy that their forwards will see,if he has enough energy and stand tall I don't think too many forwards will go beyond him....
