Should have been a PK. The contact absolutely continued into the box even though the initial contact was outside.
It was the one thing that stood out for me in stands, and held true the whole game. Just damn bad on that side of the field, and a difference-maker in the game. Also how the hell wasn’t that a PK? Ugh. edit: also also, ******** Matt Reis.
Fire started out great but defense let NE beat them too many times. Poor defense on corner kicks and free kicks. Fire was lucky NE didn't score more although fire led in possession. Had a hard time getting into the stadium. I am 74 walk with a cane so I park in the north garage and since my section is 209 in the stadium club I go to that entrance. I was told they couldn't let me in that gate because my ticket said I had to enter gate 6 which was outside down steps and far from the north garage. I may not go to any more games if this can't be fixed.
2nd goal was entirely on Calvo. Sick of his huge gaffes. Ugh. On the flip side, pretty impressed by Offor. And it was great to see Kappelhof, and he played wel,l IMO.
For those watched at home, was the ref really as bad as he seemed or did I have that in stadium bias?
It could be the in stadium bias. He was okay. Not great and not horrible based on replays. The foul at the end I could've sworn that after the initial contact, which wasn't that much, it looked like Frankowski tripped on his own foot. I could be wrong though.
Like you I am no fan of stairs. When more fans are allowed would they open that club entrance from the North Garage again? Even if only as a handicapped entrance? Anyways, I got a chuckle from setting off the metal detector at Gate 6 with the titanium in my right knee. After Thursday I will have matching titanium in my left knee so I'll have to be wanded every match. Sorry I missed you last night passing in the aisle because I was grabbing a couple of cocktails, but the wife got to say hi.
I'm reading a lot of people impressed with Offor today, but I was not -- doesn't do anything with the ball at his feet, seems like he's out of position on the wing but also not good enough to push Beric out of the middle -- no unlocking passes, no breaking down the defender, some decent hold-up play but it didn't really turn into much -- a threat in the air, it seems, but didn't have much of a chance to show it seems like a back-up to Beric instead of a starting winger I also have yet to see anything from Giminez -- to my eye, he's no better than Dax was, which is tough to see from a DP the D was rough, especially Bornstein, but it does seem that the scheme puts a lot of pressure of the CBs to handle the counter and I don't know that that is smart with this squad
I got the score right and I did get it right that something stupid would happen after the 85th minute.
