We could use another one of these since the 2nd round of the league is this weekend Sparta took care of business mid-week and will look forward to Lech Poznan next round... but need to focus on this weekend's task at hand.
Předpokládané předzápasové sestavy: Sparta: Blažek - Kladrubský, Brabec, Řepka, Pamič - Hoheneder - Sionko, Matějovský, Žofčák, Kadlec - Kweuke. Slovácko: Filipko - Kuncl, Mezlík, Košút, Kubáň - Fujerik, Kordula, Volešák, V. Valenta - Ondřejka, Švancara. Absence: Kušnír, Hušek, Lačný (všichni zranění), Kucka, Wilfried (oba nejistý start) - Cleber (zranění)
in other news, in a pretty even match up in Prague... Sparta Prague escape 1-0, which makes for an interesting 2nd leg in Poznan. i personally was hoping for a large enough margin of victory so the 2nd leg wouldn't have mattered, but clearly that did not happen
My main hope for Brno is that the planned new Za Lužánkami gets constructed. I used to live not too far from the ruins of the old stadium and the decaying remains were a depressing sight (and kind of a blight on fairly nice area of town). Plus it would be great for the country/league.
Managed to get to the Sigma-Jablonec game a few weeks back. I was quite surprised how Sigma rolled all over Jablonec. I think it could be a good year for Olomouc.
any pics? in other news... Sparta won 1-0 in Poznan to advance to the playoff round of CL with a 2-0 aggregate
I do have some, but I am back home in Canada. I'll get some pics up in a few weeks Sigma has built a new stand, so the stadium looks fantastic! I'll be back in the Czech Republic in time for the Olomouc home game with Brno Sparta will play Zilina in the Champions League playoff, which should prove to be very very interesting. All three Czech clubs were knocked out of the Europa league
Sigma won 3-0 at home to Usti nad Labem today, and I think they are tied for first place. Not the toughest team to play, but three points at home... I'll take it
Not sure whether to see the game against Slavia as progress- on one hand we scored 2 first half goals, but...
Finally- Brno 3- Ml Boleslav 1. A vast improvement, getting a win against a team that was off to a fairly good start. Also, I am really liking the new crest and bringing back the Zbrojovka name. Up next is a Moravian clash with Olomouc- you guys are going down Canadian! (yes I really have let one victory go to my head this much) Plzeň are looking really good right now. -- Also, last season in was possible to watch all the games (though the stream quality wasn't always that great) at http://www.ct24.cz/sport/fotbal/live.asp , but it doesn't seem to exist this year . They may have a new page, but I haven't found it. Anyway if anyone finds a legitimate site showing Gambrinus Liga please post it.
congratz on the win i was wondering, with the link you sent... do you by chance know of links to watch hockey, preferably Sparta Praha. the Tippsport Cup started and i can't find any damn links if my life depended on it, and czech tele is only going to televise the home matches in the European Trophy. usually during regular season there are stream options as well. but i really need my hockey fix other than 3-4 European Trophy matches at home sorry for the thread derail
ČT used have a similar page for Hokej, but it too has been removed. I'll let you know if I find anything. --- interesting aside, I've noticed that this season's Gambrinus Liga thread already has more posts than last season's.
