Galician clubs in Segunda División 2004-05 [R]

Been meaning to start this for a while. A thread for Galician clubs involved in Segunda this year: Pontevedra, Racing Ferrol, and of course Celta. Pontevedra and Racing were promoted from Segunda B, while Celta were relegated last year from Primera.

They sold off a few people (Milosevic for example) but not sure about their current composition. I think they made an effort to keep as many people as possible.

Week 7 highlight - Galician derby day in Segunda! Celta and Racing Ferrol met at the Balaídos in Vigo in a game which ended in a 1-1 draw. Racing started strong before retreating into its half for most of the game. Celta took over and was clearly the stronger side but was simply not able to score. Racing scored against the run of play with Juanito in the 20th minute who struck a 40 meter drive. Celta continued its fine play and pulled even with Jandro 5 minutes later. For the remainder of the match, Celta's inability to score saw it end its 5th consecutive match without a win and already the third draw of the season at Balaídos.

Yes I am surprised by Ferrol, although I dont think they have the resources to get promoted and survive in Primera. Could be wrong though. Celta is struggling like a lot of clubs who get relegated for the first time in many years and will have a tough time coming back up! Bottom line is I don't expect to see any Galician club besides Deportivo in Primera at least for a couple of years!

Yeah I would love to see Pontevedra stay in Segunda, although to be honest I kinda miss the derbies with Celta!! On the one hand it would be "interesting" ( ) to see them get relegated again, but at the same time it's good to have your biggest rival around....altough not for too long!

Going back to our elimination, the only consolation is that much worse happened to other teams. Namely, Barcelona who lost against a Segunda B side!! At least Elche is in Segunda!!!
