According to the e-mail I just received from the Galaxy, they anticipate a sell out by Thursday. Get your tickets now, if you have not yet.
Re: Galaxy-DC United sold out by Thursday? This should be a good game to watch! United looked a lot better last weekend and the Galaxy look like the team to beat in the West
Re: Galaxy-DC United sold out by Thursday? No Dema because of the red card. So, Freddie has to play without his McSorley. Hmmmm.
Re: Galaxy-DC United sold out by Thursday? DC plays a decent match against the Smurfs and suddenly, the fans think they're world beaters. https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=104640 Somebody wake up Topper with a bacon wrapped hot dog and tell him he's needed on the DC boards.
Re: Galaxy-DC United sold out by Thursday? "Knave", the anal-retentive moderator from the DC boards, has made me persona non grata. Apparently, he finds me a bit of a troll. Topper
Re: Galaxy-DC United sold out by Thursday? same could be said for you guys... overzealous opening-day fans aside, it should be an extremely entertaining match in the best soccer venue in the nation. i look forward to seeing how both teams show up in the second match of the season. the wunderkind may even start due to hellboy's suspension.
Re: Galaxy-DC United sold out by Thursday? you looked like crap beating a crap team. we looked good beating a crap team. I cant wait until Califf cracks Freddy in the face.
Galaxy vs. Dog Crap United Pre-Game Thread (Moderator's Note: I merged this with the DC Sold out by Thurs? Thread - Topper) From LAGalaxy.com: "L.A. GALAXY HOST D.C. UNITED THIS SATURDAY AT THE HOME DEPOT CENTER: The Los Angeles Galaxy (1-0-0, 3pts, 1st West) play their second game of the 2004 MLS Regular Season this Saturday, April 10 at The Home Depot Center when they host 14-year-old phenom Freddy Adu and D.C. United (1-0-0, 3pts, 1st East) at 7 pm. Both teams won their first matches of the present campaign on April 3; the Galaxy defeated New England Revolution, 3-2, (see details below) while D.C. United knocked off the San Jose Earthquakes, 2-1. The first 15,000 fans in attendance will receive a 2004 Galaxy poster, courtesy of Verizon Wireless. This week's game will be televised on Fox Sports World. In addition, Galaxy fans can hear it live on radio in three languages on KMPC 1540 AM (English), KMXE 830 AM (Spanish) and Radio Korea 1230 (Korean). FREDDY FOR 14 FEVER COMES TO CARSON: The Los Angeles Galaxy are offering young soccer fans in Southern California the chance to see rising D.C. United star Freddy Adu at a discounted rate in his only scheduled visit to L.A. during the 2004 MLS regular season. The Galaxy and D.C. United will meet on Saturday, April 10 at 7 pm. For $14, children aged 14 and under accompanied by a paying adult will be able to purchase a ticket to watch the 14-year-old phenom. The $14 dollar promotion applies to seats purchased in the General Admission, Endline, Corner and Upper Deck sections of The Home Depot Center. There is no limit to the number of children who can accompany an adult, however all tickets must be purchased prior to Wednesday April 7 by calling the Galaxy ticket office at 1-877-3GALAXY." Apparently, DC fans think they now have a championship-caliber team after winning a home game against the champs-to-chumps Smurfs. Of course, now that Adu is on the scene, Landin' n' Divin' is sooooo yestermonth. That no-neck psycho-boy Kovalenko is out with a red, so Califf won't have to kick his teeth in. Galaxy need to remind DC that United almost never makes the playoffs - - not in this century, anyway. Topper
Re: Galaxy-DC United sold out by Thursday? The DC boards are precious! Herzog and Kirovski must have put the fear of god into the poor dears. I haven't seen so much poignant vitriol this early in a season since... since... Well, at least not on the soccer portion of the boards. Fish hits the turf once, and they're all on about "diving". I can't tell if they're a) Jealous because our high-profile signings are going to produce this year, b) Jealous because we have a stadium of our very own, c) Jealous because we have won something this administration, or d) just another group of petty, bitter east-coasters who can't get over the fact that their weather sucks. I'm making the trip up to see Mr TV-Timeout make his unnecessary appearance, and to watch another crap team submit to the dominance that is the '04 Galaxy. Eat bootleather and like it, bitches...
Re: Galaxy-DC United sold out by Thursday? I had you barred from the DC board? I don't remember doing that. Might have been one of the other mods though ... Serious inquiry - Is Cobi Jones expected to play? See you all on Saturday.
Re: Galaxy-DC United sold out by Thursday? Cobi is listed as "probable." Last week was a combo of muscle pull and tonselitis. I do not expect him to go 90 and have no idea if he will start or not.
Re: Galaxy vs. Dog Crap United Pre-Game Thread i'm not quite as confident as you guys, as i mentioned in the other thread i wasn't overly impressed with our play until NE scored their 1st goal through carlos missing that golden opportunity. about a 20-25 minute spell. the rest of the time we looked like last years team with too many poor passes (vagenas) and keystone cops defending (everyone but califf). i predict another nail biting 2-1
Re: Galaxy-DC United sold out by Thursday? My posts just seem to disappear from the DC boards. Your moderators are simply notorious for being not welcome to outsiders.
O.P. United I will go out on a limb here and Say the G's put another 3 spot on the board. I really think that DC v San Jose game last week was the worst game in terms of tactics, passing, possesion, and overall skill... since the USA v Holland match in Feb. If Freddy can get in at the start of the second half we might see some nice midfield work... I think the Adu,olsen, convey line can be very, very dangerous.. especially to Hawk & Animal, and there friends Karl & Lenny. speed kills.. but in this case, Puke United wont be able to show us what they got... cuz they'll be back on their heels the whole game. Hope Jaime "Overhyped" Moreno likes running back into his end to play D all game long. And if DC United Mods are really out there banning Galaxy posters from ranting on their boards... Then to add injury to insult, we'll have sigi the hut frog splash mr. nowak into the holiest of grounds the HDC soccer field.
Re: Galaxy-DC United sold out by Thursday? i don't usually go trolling with you lot in west hollywood, but what the hell... a crap team that won mls cup last year? but you're right. that means nothing now. look at the '03 galaxatives. oh, and dema may be suspended, but danny "dan" califf may just meet ben olsen's cleats if he ********s with the christ child.
Re: Galaxy-DC United sold out by Thursday? I dont know Topper, they seemed to have invited you there by taking a whole thread and dedicating it to slagging LA. If the mods are going to be hypocrites about posts insulting their team while allowing insulting other teams, better to call them on it than to just let the double standard go unchallenged.
Re: Galaxy-DC United sold out by Thursday? The best you have to threaten us with is .... Ben Olson???? Ben "I'm so fragile I can't usually play two games in a row" Olson? Ben "I'm as tough as Pee Wee Herman" Olson? Oh dear oh dear. The whole Galaxy will quake in their boots. And, BTW, if I were Freddy and the Dreamers I'ld be more worried about Tyrone Marshall than I would about Danny. Califf is straight up tough, but Tyrone is sneaky.
Re: Galaxy vs. Dog Crap United Pre-Game Thread Aha! At long last dashiel and I agree... I'm hope what we saw last Saturday is the standard for the Galaxy now, but at present, it still is just a hope. These first few games for many teams can be a bit like preseason where teams that play poorly today suddenly take off 2 months later and become the Arsenal of MLS, and vice versa. I want to see two things before I get comfortable: several games straight of solid, dominating team play at home, and a couple of away victories within the first 3 or 4 away games. Hopefully Vic Street becomes a fortress this year and we get that damn away game monkey off our back from the get go. Great start to the season though....
Re: Galaxy vs. Dog Crap United Pre-Game Thread Prediction: DC United 4-3 LA Gals Adu comes off the bench and scores 2 goals in injury time.
Re: Galaxy vs. Dog Crap United Pre-Game Thread I think the harsh reality of professional men's soccer is going to be indelibly imprinted on young Adu's mind this season.
Re: Galaxy-DC United sold out by Thursday? the smurf team that you beat is nowhere near the smurf team that won mlscup. A lot of the players are the same, but they looked totally different. Did they string together more than 4 passes? you barely beat a ******** team. p.s. gay jokes are so last year
