surpised to see no one has started this thread, with the game less than 48 hours away no less!!! if las vegas was betting on this game, the galaxy would be favored, but they do come in with a huge disadvantage: no ruiz. the galaxy will have to find scoring elsewhere. time for chacon to step up. time for glinton to take his chances. cobi also has to have a good game. defensively the galaxy need to stay tight and not give away anything, especially early, which would allow the hondurans to pack it in. hopefully there'll be a pretty big crowd out at fullerton. i don't really expect one, but it looks like my gal & i are going to make it, so i guess i'll be able to see for myself. for the weekend anyway, viva la Galaxy! viva la MLS!!
My first visit to Fullerton & I'm expecting a solid performance by the Galaxy!! Even without Ruiz, I think we'll be ok. The key IMHO is to get the FIRST goal. That will get the "monkey" off our back, take the pressure off & allow us to play our game!!! Galaxy 3-1. Goals by Cobi, Pineda Chacon & Glinton (who I REALLY hope to see play)!!!! Bring on Necaxa!!!!!!!!
Well I have a feeling the Galaxy will lose 8 to 3, only consolation is that Lalas will kick a field goal in the 4th quarter to make it respectable.
Of course, the press coverage of this game will help draw a big crowd. Here's what the LATimes had to say in its analysis of the upcoming game and GaLAxy's chances: Oh, by the way, the game did not even show up on the list of sporting events to attend in LA this weekend, which is a regular feature of the Friday sports section. You've got to love it.
My hat off to all of you that will attend and show your support for this great event. To bad most people have no idea this is taking place or understand the importance of this. As someone said, the Galaxy need to play tight defense, play smart and deciplined, hopefuly score that one important goal. Good luck !
Howdy! Am in Phoenix and was thinking maybe I'd make the trip for this one (why not?) Any info on directions (can get into So. Cal by myself, just need it from there ), starting times, tix prices?
it is sure that necaxa will play against galaxy?? is la playing good??? and im sorry for dont knowing almost anything about galaxy but they dont show mls games in here, hell they dont even show the concacaf champions cup games
Start time is 6PM and $15 for GA, $20 for reserved. If you can drive yourself, just get on I-10 westbound, interchange to 57 southbound, exit Yorba Linda Blvd. and turn right when you're off the off-ramp. The stadium is right there on the left. Enter left on Associated, which is the next light.
Perfect. I live less than a mile from I-10, so this sounds pretty simple. Looks like I'd need to leave about 1PM. Sounds doable, actually.
If you buy GA and want to get rowdy, come stand with LA Riot squad in the SE corner (the side with no benches or chairbacks).
I'd leave now to make sure you make it in time. To get from PHX to Fullerton, i'd leave yourself at least 5 1/2 hours, probably 6.
Hi there. IF the GaLAxy win, they will meet Necaxa in the next round. There would then be a 2 leg home and home series between LAG and Necaxa, but I don't think the dates are set yet. We do not get champions cup games on TV here in LA either, although when the cup was held in LA a couple of years ago they did broadcast the final game. Too bad that you do not get the MLS games there. We do see a lot of Mexican League games on local TV here, and I think MLS clubs always take their games against Mexican teams very seriously. There is a lot of respect here for the quality of soccer played in Mexico and it is always treated as a good index of how well our clubs are doing. Since we are a very new league, it is very much of interest to us how our quality stacks up against other places in the world, and Mexico in particular.
See you all tonight in Fullerton! The www.rojomania.com cameras will be looking for the Riot Squad no doubt!
Another reason to Despise HRH Again, the back of the hand from LAT and his Grahamness to the LAG. Sunday, the day of the Championscup match, the first time the LAG plays in SoCal this year, and you would NEVER know it if you read the LAT for sports news. Not only has the times failed to list the game on sports section page 2 where it charts home games from LA team, not only does the Times omit the game from the Friday list of sporting events in LA, today we get Grahame Jones' soccer column. There is a wonderful story about Brian McBride and how he came back to Columbos to play in the Crew's Champion's Cup game today. And not one mention of the fact that LAG is playing today. We get better coverage of the Crew than we do the GaLAxy. I am sure there are thousands of transplanted Crew fans in LA and that must be why ... Nahhh. No - we get this story because it gives Jones the chance to talk about how wonderful football in England is and how McBride is so loyal to the Crew that he passes up the chance to play in a much better league and get more personal exposure. What a crock.
what time is a good time to show up at the stadium? does anybody have any idea how many tickets have been sold for this game??
I got these addresses from the galaxy boards...evidentally the match will be streamed live on one of them...spanish speakers?? http://www.radiohrn.hn/ http://www.radioamerica.hn/
