there's the kansas city metros result implied here in this thread, so if you don't know, or don't want to know go away. well we seem to have squeaked in to break in first place, by a single point, and KC has a game in hand against us. looks like we have 5 home and 5 away matches left in the season including 2 huge games against kansas city and two big ones against sojo. i think we can take KC on at least one of those games, we've faced them twice this season. the first time we were just starting our slump and had no ruiz, came out flat and got our asses handed to us. second game we were coming off the open cup loss and our 4th road game in 7 days (incl the rhug united game). i say a healthy, rested galaxy with our first choice back 4 having put in 3-4 games together and we take the home game and grab a tie in KC. against sojo... i would love to grab two wins against those bitches, leave them in the cellar and give their final season the ignominious send off of missing the playoffs, just like the sojo of old. that would be sweet.
You say 4 huge games against KC and SJ, but I feel every game is huge. We need to get many points as possible. SJ is in last place, but they're 12 points behind. If they get on winning streak while we stagnate, all of a sudden they're in contention. After the All-Star break, I'm hoping for the hot Galaxy to consistently win as much as possible.
oh don't get me wrong rok, with the parity in the league this season i agree every game is essential, just that the KC games are likely to decide the supporters shield winner and the sojo games could very well lock the cellar door on sojo... of our 10 remaining games, anything less than 5 wins isn't going to swing it. i'd say 7 wins and a tie gets us the shield. 2 wins against san jose might keep them out of the playoffs, but unless chicago and new england pick it up considerably sojo will likely squeak the playoffs, like we did last year.
Don't forget, first match after the break is at 1st in the East, NY. NY have owned LA so far this season.
