Galaxy, which already boast former Real Madrid star David Beckham, have already tabled a lucrative offer to the Frenchman, who is also wanted by the backers of expansion club Seattle for next season's MLS.

Ok, the source is from tribalfootball which in eyes of many, its not a reliable source but one can just assume if maybe Thierry's only request in coming to MLS is playing for the Galaxy. Who knows:confused:

Imagine, Henry, Donovan, Ruiz in the front, we would be blowing out teams by atleast 10 goals.:D

Nope, no way...it won't happen. I'd rather sign a world class defender anyway...or maybe even keeper. But we certainly don't have the $$$ to do something as fool-hardy as this.

Where the heck would the salary cap space come from?

Yeah, sure. And imagine Beckham playing the entire midfield, defense and goalkeeper positions by himself because there's no salary cap left for anyone else on the team.

Why wouldn't he? Think of the honor he would feel finally playing for a Superclub?

    Our Line-up formation would be a 3-1-1

    Ruiz, Donovan, Henry

    Beckham

    Vagenas

    No GK

Donovan is going to go balls-out at Wembley next week to get Europe interested (again). Hope he has a crap game so he's in the LAG starting 11 in 2009

I had to keep my hand over my mouth from spitting coffee.

I'd put Franchino in for Vagenas, cuz, you know - he's earned it.

If Thierry doesn't come, Cristiano might be available; we sell the whole team and play a 0-0-1 formation:

    ----- C. Ronaldo -----

    ---- Wicks ----

Yeah, and we'd win entirely on penalty kicks.

Lalas: Due to salary cap restraints, the highest we can offer you is $30k for the honor of playing for our elite superclub, the Los Angeles Galaxy.
Henry: Great! $30k per game is less than what I'm used to, but I feel it's adequate and reasonable compensation for an accomplished player such as my--
    Lalas: No...that's...$30k a year...
    Henry: I---what?

You know what's sad? I'd pay twice as much money to see that than a whole team with Beckham. And I'm a Becks fan.

It was a sarcastic statement. Fortunately Ronaldo lived up to my expectations for him.

Posted today on Truth & Rumors Website:

"The L.A. Galaxy are rivaling the new Seattle MLS franchise in the race to land Barcelona striker Thierry Henry. The Galaxy, which already boast former Real Madrid star David Beckham, have already tabled a lucrative offer to the Frenchman, who is also wanted by the backers of expansion club Seattle for next season's MLS. The Galaxy are turning to Henry after Luis Figo chose to commit to Inter Milan for another 12 months."

How can we have already tabled a "lucrative" offer? Is Becks going to help pay out of his pocket? Would we give 100% of jersey sales to him? I mean seriously. This just seems so ludicrous. The only way I can rationalize this is that we really don't need a good defense if we can put 10 in the back of the net every game. Right?!?!?!

at first i thought this was ludicrous, but i just realized how this trade happens.

carlos ruiz (and maybe another player) is traded to san jose or houston in exchange for their designated player. done.

Remember, we only have 1 DP Slot and as-long-as we cant get a hold of a second DP Slot, AEG is willing to put the money upfront for a good quality player such as Henry, Figo, shevchenko etc... Lets not forget that Ruiz and Donovan are not DP's. Although I doubt this rumor will become a reality, but one thing is for sure, I will never doubt AEG on bringing good quality and expensive "STAR" players with marketing value (Jersey Sells. Global branding Tours etc...)
