Note, this match starts at 1:30 in the afternoon. Also, the CU v Texas A&M football game is being played at Mile High and also begins at 1:30, so those using US 36 or going north on I25 through downtown may encounter more traffic than expected. We know Price is out with yellow card accumulation. It's possible that Abubakar will still be recovering from his collision last Saturday. Don't know about Rubio, Trusty and Kelly. Additionally. it seems likely that Acosta will need to sit this one out to rest after playing in all three WCQ matches. Kaye didn't play as much, so hopefully he's recovered and able play this weekend.
Chicharito will be available for LA: 🚨 Chicharito will be available to play in his first game since June 26 Saturday vs. #Rapids96 🚨 Greg Vanney says he feels good, looks good and be ready to go #LAGalaxy— Andy Deossa 🇨🇴 (@Andy_Deossa) September 9, 2021 So expect them to be more deadly in front of goal. If Abubakar can’t go, I am more than confident in a back four of Rosenberry Trusty Wilson Esteves (assuming Trusty is no longer injured). If both Abubakar and Trusty can’t go, we may se a 3-5-2 that the Rapids have employed a couple times throughout the year. Esteves looked solid in his first MLS start, and I expect him to continue on that solid path. If Trusty and Abubakar can’t go, we may also get Drew Moor. He would probably match well against the craftiness of Chicharito. Midfield will probably be Kaye Bassett Warner with Kaye slotting in where Price normally goes. Could see Mezquida getting the start over Bassett, but he also seems to do wonders as a sub coming in to close out a game with his energy. Should be a good game. Rapids have 4 out of their next 5 at home so we have a good chance to get some good results to stay at the top of the table and potentially overtake Seattle in the process
In the media game notes Namli and Kelly are listed as Out with injury, Trusty and Abubakar are listed as Questionable. Rubio is not listed so he should be good to go.
So with Trusty and Abubakar injured I wonder if Moor starts in this game. LA Gals wingers have pace, but Chicharito isn't the fastest of strikers. He's more shifty and creative with his runs / timing of his runs. I think Rapids win this match 2-1. Chicharito scores for the Gals to open things up in the first half, then the Rapids respond with two 2nd half goals by Galvan on his left boot, and Bassett FINALLY hits the broadside of a barn and buries the game winner off the inside of the post.
I misread the second half of the injury report in the media notes (where the more details statuses are). Namli is Questionable, not Out, for this match.
I’m worried, so many absences. Still Rapids win, but only 2-1. Game on Spanish channel I believe for those who can’t go.
I have CU tickets, so I’ll tape it and try not to hear the score. 1-1 tie. Galvan left foot top shelf.
1-1 draw, goal by Barrios. The Galaxy have a slightly better offense than us, but a lousy defense. Unfortunately I don't think we'll be able to take as much advantage of that as we would like as I expect us to play more defensively to compensate for the loss of Price, Trusty, and Abubakar. its getting harder and harder every game to pick against the Rapids with how their playing, but f there's a game that sets us back, tomorrow is likely it given the weather and absences. http://view-from-the-couch.blogspot.com/2021/09/time-to-broil.html
2-0 Rapids win, with Barrios x 2. Also, rooting for the Loons today, wouldn't mind seeing the Rapids at the top of the table after the week's matches are complete......

Go Buffs! Skipping the game in Denver, but can’t make either game actually, but hopefully will watch Rapids live on TV.
It is brutally hot out there! One of my teams already suffered thru it this morning. My 10:30 match went from 74° at the start to 93° at the finish. I feel for these guys, Ugh! Sucks I can only watch the 1st half in between games. This is a HUGE match. Statement match. C’mon you Pids!!
Let's go 'Pids! Unlike you guys out in the sun, I'm watching from the comfort of my house in DC. The good news is that the English language broadcast on Univision is working.
Subs going to be critical this game. 95 degree heat plus altitude. There will be a ton of tired legs second half. Hopefully that plays to our advantage.
Pids definitely the better, more dangerous team all half. Hopefully the levy breaks in the 2nd. Esteves very active down the left. Several good turnovers and a lot of positive possession. Lewis and Barrios consistently challenging the back line. Like what I’ve seen so far.
Definitely a soft goal from Yarbrough. Disappointing result. If I’m LA I’m ecstatic with the result. On the bright side, it’s a positive sign of where we’re at as a club that draws feel like losses. That said, this definitely feels like a loss.
