Not a lot to state here. Generally I'm not fatalistic, but it's hard to imagine the Rapids even getting a draw in 90 minutes, let alone a straight up win. In three matches this season aggregate score is 11-3 Galaxy. Ouch. Looks like the match won't be sold out. Not a surprise given the time of the year and the Rapids' form. My guess is that Bassett isn't going to bee healthy. Home Mihailovic is.
I am hopeful with no real logical reason. I understand why we won't sell out the stadium, but it is shocking how many tix are available. Even with our awful form, I hope we can put up a good showing in the stands and on the field. Even if that isn't a win.
Djordje Mihailović trained fully today. Cole Bassett most did individual work on the side. Would guess Djordje starts. Hopefully Cole can come off the bench for 30. We’ll see what the availability report says this afternoon.— Burgundy Wave (@Burgundywave) October 31, 2024
Remember, Bassett was held out 5 games ago just for "precautionary" reasons. And he probably won't start (and quite possibly won't play) again in 2024 since then.

2-1 loss, goal by Mihailovic. Things are just too stacked against us to expect anything other than a loss. We'll keep it much closer than we did in LA, but in the end LA has better talent and will have it all on the field, unlike us. Plus they've had our number this season. https://view-from-the-couch.blogspot.com/2024/10/rapids-season-likely-finishes-tomorrow.html
Bundle up if you're going to the @ColoradoRapids first home playoff game in 3 years tonight - and see you there!#COwx pic.twitter.com/BQVj9PKQDr— Chris Bianchi (@BianchiWeather) November 1, 2024
Our only hope tonight is LA players phone it in. Altitude, road game, colder weather, PK’s if it’s a draw after 90, just dropped 5 in these guys. Perfect condition for players to go on autopilot and only give 70-80%. We might sneak a goal off of them early. We had chances on the break last game, that were quite demonstrably fumbled through slips, terrible passes, and missed touches. If we can force a 1-0 lead early while LA nap (if they even do that), we just might force a game 3 - or at the very least PK’s. But if we go down at any point in this game, it’s over. We clearly can’t defend LA’s counter attacks. I think @JasonMa score line is the correct one. My gut says it’s 2-1 Gals. My heart hopes it’s 2-1 us. What’re we drinking tonight to drown our sorrows away for the pitiful end to what was a good season??

3-4-2-1 which is essentially a 5-3-2 with wingbacks if you look at the lineup. C’mon boys! Let’s not go out tonight. Extend the season, please!
LA Galaxy is just our nemesis. What’s that like 15 GA this season including playoffs? Jesus. Just a sour way to end what has been a good, respectable season. But the way we just fluttered down the stretch….. we have to build some depth next season. It’s a must.
1st half was ok. They didn’t creat much second half, that was disappointing. The late galaxy goals were due to pressing. I’m still glad the playoff format gave us one home game, it was nice to be at one.
Curious game. Not surprising for the out come. I thought Larraz was playing really well prior to the goal and deserved the goal. After the goal his decision making slipped, but not the worst on the field by far. I thought it strange that with Djordje on the field Ronan still seemed to be on corners. Djordje's ankle might have been fine but that just suggested that he wasn't trusting it. This never felt like any more of a smash and grab opportunity so not shocked at the outcome. It'll be interesting how the post season shakes out. The team has a lot of holes athletically, with game intelligence, and skill level. All issues were on display in this one.
To compete, the Rapids needed the lucky break first goal. Instead, LA gets the luck. After that, it was just a matter of the cream rising to the top. Oh well, it was a good season.
Armas used a different formation and tactics which led to few chances for the Rapids while also keeping the Galaxy in front of them. They really had a hard time getting anything going in the final third as the game wound down. It was a balancing act that was made really tough by gifting the Galaxy's first goal early in the match.
