Nothing major, but on my way to work this morning, I saw an ad for the Galaxy on the side of an Metro bus heading up La Brea. It went by fairly quickly, but I was able to tell that it was hyping the season opener. There was a player celebrating in the photo, but I couldn't quite tell who it was - it looked like Franklin, though. Anywho, I'm happy that they're still trying. . .
I saw that too... it said: "LA Galaxy - we look good when compared to LA public transportation!" All kidding aside, this is a good move, I'm always happy to see the Galaxy advertised in the public at-large, as opposed to soccer-friendly locales only (like Fox Soccer Channel or during Galaxy matches on FSN-W).
There are so many places where they can advertise. For example, gas pumps with those tv screens. Good location to advertise while people are pumping gas. There seems to be a lack of marketing ideas or initiatives.
Or money. I am pretty sure that one of the reasons the Galaxy is profitable is because they still run on a shoestring
