MacAllister was never the fastest - but his intelligence put him in the right places. However, after whatever injury and surgery he had at the end of last season - he's been more than a step slow. It's been a calamitous decline for us.
This was not a good week for PL Clubs. Getting 5 teams in CL next year is getting dicey now, so the focus should change to finishing in the top 4, wow.
I read we are so far ahead on the coefficient that it doesn't matter. Arsenal will go through. Liverpool has a chance. Newcastle has a chance. Spurs, Cheslki, and 115 - probably all out.
Yep , so true and also a big reason why we've struggled this season. The massive drop in form of Macca , Salah and Konate has hurt us the most imo and I think had these three continued to play at the high levels they did last season we could have handled the new player transitions so much better. I'm not sure any of those three will remain for next season.
I believe 5th has already been decided. (Could be wrong, but read it somewhere in an article on UEFA in the last couple of weeks.)
Me to.... Man City also has a chance, I'd say, believe it or not. Pep's leaving Rodri to play on his own in midfield for 90 mins is unlikely to happen again next week.
My thoughts on him are: he wins the world cup in 2022. He wins the league last year. Maybe complacency has set in. Maybe he doesn't now give that 2% extra effort that made him such a key player for us. Maybe mentally he's not as driven and/ or focused to be his absolute best.
I read somewhere they are being offered 5 million Euros to finsh the job. We'll have a battle on our hands, lol.
I don't think it matters, one will play 65, the other 25 plus added time. What matters is what they do while on the field, IMO.
