Galatasaray have revealed they made an offer for Arsenal`s Nigerian star Nwankwo Kanu.

The reigning Turkish champions have been busy in the winter transfer window, strengthening their squad with the likes of Ali Lukunku, Haim Revivo, Suat Usta, and Abel Xavier.

And the Istanbul giants recently turned their attention to Kanu, who has not been able to command a regular first-team place for Arsene Wenger`s side this season.

Galatasaray`s football branch manager Burak Elmas said: 'We have made an offer for him within the last 15 days, but nothing serious has happened afterwards.'

There are now just two days to go before the transfer window closes.

Kanu did have a good start to the season, and can continue to play well for Arsenal. However, I don't know if he's looking for more playing time, so maybe he wants out? I haven't any complaints from him, but then, I don't get all the news either.

Let's just concentrate on getting a keeper!

I'm amazed that Mr. Elmas still has two hands after we failed to bite one off when this offer came along. We need to get rid of Kanu and quick, he's hasn't been doing the business for ages now. He got substituted against Farnborough, need I say any more?

If we sell him for a case of ankle-wrap FJ9 could easily take his spot on the bench.

Seriously though, I hope Arsenal considers the offer if it's worth consideration.

The Turks have now admitted that their bid to sign KANU has failed, and they have given up all hope.
After the way their fans behaved in Copehagen in 2000
I hope that Kanu had some say in the matter!
(Also that he spoke to former Gunner Kevin Campbell (a personal friend) after he was labelled a "cannibal" by the chairman of their arch-rivals Fenebache. Thaat's why he returned to England A.S.A.P.

It's obvious Kanu has dropped in the pecking order below Jeffers. Aliadiere is on the mend and Jeffers will have some competition when Aliadiere returns.
