Is GAA gone forever from the States? Setanta dosen't seem to show it over here anymore. I guess they're all in Gaelic now and no viewers over here could understand it so they dropped it.

"...1-3 to Tyrone and Kerry 6, so it's all even here at Croke park on a love-ley afternoon of Gaelic football..."

    I miss it. And Hurling.

    uhhh...nevermind

Only the last few of the finals will be allowed to be televised in English language. All tied in with the Bertie Bowl fiasco. Hmpf!

    So it's more like:
"And it's over the bar! But it's called back by the Administration and counted wide! Un-BE-lieveable!"

    Oh well, nice try...

Whilst I would consider myself a GAA fan, the best place for GAA posts is the 'Other Sports' section.

They still show hurling and gaelic in the bars where I live, maybe the bars in your area decide not to pick them up.

In fairness, I'd say that this thread will be seen by more Gaelic/hurling fans here than in "Other Sports". Although he could always double up :)

The only games that are in Irish are the league games which are being shown on TG4 (the Irish language station) at home.

When the Championship starts (late May), the commentaries will be in English again and Setanta will more than likely cover the vast amount of the games being shown on RTE.

Whilst Setanta might be providing a wonderful service for people overseas, they are serious pain in the arse for those of us here on the mainland because they refuse to allow RTE to broadcast live GAA matches through Sky Digital.

But you still get to see the games anyway because they're on RTE, right?

I think he means in the UK you can't see the GAA matches on RTE as they are scrambled on Sky Digital.

No I don't mean the UK, I mean Ireland. Nobody in Ireland who has Sky Digital can watch GAA matches on RTE because they are scrambled.

I wouldn't say that. They know because of the satellite/digital boom they are a dying service, and are grasping desperately to squeeze every last cent out of customers' and pub owners' pockets.

All Setanta do anyway is transmit the RTE broadcast on their channel for GAA and Irish soccer matches!

Anyone know if Fox Sports World will be showing Clash (highlights program) again this summer? Great show.
