Moreira not been called for either the AA team or BB team of Portugal, to some are a surprise, to me is not, we have a lot goalkeepers in Portugal with a lot quality, and the best future goalkeeper is working very hard in the II portuguese league Ovarense, last season he was with Charlton, Sergio Leite

Sergio Leite played for all the portuguese youth national teams when he was with Boavista, but Paiva is sub on the B team, had to come to the hard knock, with a lot work and sacrifice
today at 24 is the keeper of Maia one of the leaders on the Honra league

    Jacques e Rodolfo Lima lesionados

Moreira will be the future goalkeeper of the Portuguese National Team! Also, I'm not sure if this is the same Sergio Leite that came up through the Boavista system, but if it is, he has bounced around alot, which means he can't hold down a spot.

will see, sometime it takes time, yes he his the ex Boavista youth keeper, by the way here goes my opinion about Moreira once again

the Benfica defence always get's the blame for Benfica losing games, but if you don't have a goalkeeper they can trust, that's what happens
Moreira is horrible coming out of the posts, and cross's
    that's my opinion
if I was the coach, Quim would be my goalie twomorrow
we just wasting a lot time with Moreira, and the fans from other teams are just laughing inside

Moreira has alot of talent, and he has won alot more games for Benfica than he has lost. I admit he still isn't too sure when coming out of the posts, but that will come with time and experience, he's still only 22.

I respect your opinion like always we go along way, but Benfica can't keep wait for the arrival of the real Moreira, if Benfica doesn't win anything these season, they my have to go and let Moreira workout with a loan team

its been along time, we are waiting, and waiting

I think the next time Scolari calls up Moreira it will be to start. I respect your opinion Frank, but I feel secure having Moreira as the goalkeeper for Benfica. I've seen almost every Moreira game for Benfica, and so far he hasn't done anything that would make me think he can't be Benfica's goalkeeper now or for the future.

It's not Moreira's fault that Benfica can't win. Benfica has been curses by Manuel Damasio ;)

No Seriously, if Moreira was in Porto or Sporting, he would be even better. He is still young and needs to be part of a winning team to gain more confidence

Moreira is very confident, and he has been part of a winning team. Moreira was a huge reason Benfica won the Taca de Portugal last season. It's just at times Moreira doesn't play with the best defense in front of him. He does make mistakes like any other goalkeeper does, but like you said he is still young, and he will continue to get better with each game.

You know what, i think it's good if he messes up a few times for Benfica. I don't want a spanish team picking him up and ruin his carrer as a sub. One thing i don't get with Benfica, why do the have Yannick and Quim??? What a waste. I can never see Quim back at the NT for WC 06

I like Quim, but I never understood why Benfica bought him, especially since Moreira had already shown how good he can and will be. I have to believe Quim knew that it was Moreira's job to lose. I guess he just wanted to be part of a big team, even as a substitute.

I'd be very suprised if Moreira isn't the starting goalkeeper for Portugal in the 2006 World Cup.

Yeah, I guess Quim wanted a nice retirement Contract since he is getting WAY more than at SP. Braga.

Don't worry, Moreira will be at WC 06. Who else do we have??? Old man Baia should not be there, Quim has no playing time. i don't trust any of the "small team" goalies yet.

Think of it this way - Moreira is the starting GK, but if he goes down with an injury or is in a slump, who did SLB have to back him up? The GK from the US (played for the Chicago Fire - I forgot his name)? Another kid from their "B" squad? They needed a steady back-up for Moreira in case something happens. Besides, it is good for a young starter to have a veteran back-up, someone the youngster can lean on and feed off of in terms of getting some useful information.

It will probably be Ricardo at WC06. If Scolori was going to use Moreira, he would have probably used him for any of the friendlies.

Moreira's time will probably come a bit later on in his career. His is still very young.
