I say without hesitation that the future of African football is bright. African players are tough, passionate, and very skillful so the future of African soccer is very bright.
The talent has been there for a while. The question is when will the coaching, youth development and organization catch up. I was involved with a team that was promoted from the Guinean second division when I lived in the country for a few years. What I saw in Guinean football, and what I've read about in other sub-Saharan African countries, is that basically there are too many cooks spoiling the pot. Everyone loves football so everyone wants a say and no one person (ie: coach) has real authority.
