This is probably a massive indictment of how weak the RB position is in world football, but I think Alves is an elite player in his position, and so is Silva.

Every league besides the EPL is basically a feeder league for the top clubs of the world. Germany, Italy and even Spain provide top players or top young players to other leagues.

He's borderline. Closer to it at the club level, but his availability hinders that. At the NT level, he's underwhelming IMO.

For sure, The last 2.5 years he's been phenomenal. The selecao form was completely unnoticed when the selecao was playing like garbage.

And I had Aguero in my difference makers/elite category but had to drop him down based off last season.

I wonder if the Alves acquisition means that Meunier is available. Wouldn't mind BVB kicking his tires depending on his wages.

Not sure about that. I heard Aurier might make a move. They probably keep Meunier around to groom. Alves is only a short term solution.

That explains why for years Jardel couldn't win a spot for Brazil after scoring a ton of goals in Portugal for Porto and S. Lisbon!!

When Jardel was playing though, there were R9, Romario, Bebeto, Edmundo, Elber, Amoroso, Tulio etc (also Giovanni, Denilson, Edilson, Luizao and other forwards). So, unfortunately no place for him. If he was playing in Portugal in the last few years, he would probably walk into the team.

Alves, i can agree. Relative to whats around especially.

Silva? I cant agree. He's still very good. Dont think he's been as good as pre 2018. I think Ramos, Bonucci, Boateng, Koscielny have been better and fit more consistently.

Cavani, Di Maria, Silva are all very good but not elite.
Yes, But you know what i mean. Elite players dont play their prime in France.
There has to be something there outside of football. He doesnt start and he's their best striker. Imo he is elite. He's unplayable for City at times.

I didn't believe this was actually happening but I believe Neymar is pretty much gone.

They are just trying to figure out how it will be done IMO. If Barca would take a deal with Verratti included. IMO they need to stick it to PSG and make them pay the buyout.

    40 yard own goal :ROFLMAO:

If I did that in a friendly, I probably couldn't keep a straight face.

I haven't payed much attention but from what I'm reading Neymar or his dad have handled this poorly.

From a teammates standpoint, it has to be annoying answering the Neymar question every 5 minutes

They could just say no comment and there is no way to handle this properly. It's PRESEASON. It's like saying a breakup isn't going to be messy. This is more like a divorce with how much money is changing hands. And people don't think Neymar is handling it properly because he is doing something they don't want lol. Twitter is filled with people telling him how lucky he is to play in barca and how he is a selfish person for even thinking to leave is comfort zone. Neymar has a winners mentality, not a losers so i doubt he really cares about peoples emotional reactions. Barca will be fine, it's a big boy.

It's not the first time a Brazilian star left Barca. Romario did it in the 90s when he moved to Fla. Rivaldo's exit was controversial. Ronaldo left for a similar reason -- he wasn't happy with the wages he was making, which is one of the reasons Neymar is considering PSG. While Serie A of the 90s was a lot better than today's Ligue 1, Inter went a while without winning titles when Ronaldo joined.

Romario left because he is Romario. Rivaldo I think was coach related. Don't recall. Ronaldo was about money, but he probably made nowhere near what Neymar is making even inflation adjusted. If Neymar is not happy with the money he is getting he is one greedy mofo. Perhaps the Qatar people are giving Sr. a truck load of money on the side.

And if this loyalty clause thing is true Barca are dumb as fuk and Neymar's dad is one greedy bastard. They left Santos with controversy by screwing them and his investors, so it wouldn't be surprising although I still find it hard to believe.

I don't think we need this to determine that Neymar Sr is one greedy bastard. That was determined a while ago.

Watch Neymar end up at Real in his late 20's after this PSG move.

3 years he will be at Real is my guess.
