it really has to be considered the best if not one of the best stadiums that size in the world! just please tell that there wont be any football played there to sully up the field.
What is this? http://lariotsquad.net/avatars/ntcjan2/images/DSC00014_JPG.jpg The scoreboard/jumbotron?
Well, from this view http://lariotsquad.net/avatars/ntcjan2/pages/DSC00037_JPG.htm, it says 'Home Depot Center' on it, whatever it is. Certainly not the jumbotron.
That's the scoreboard and it goes just above the Stadium club on the south end of the stadium. The Jumbotron will go on the north end, the stadium for sure will be the best stadium of it's size in the continent, it will have a lot of the same features that the Staples Center has. The only draw back to having such a kick ass stadium is that it's in a crummy area of LA.
The area isn't that bad, the college itself is very nice and clean. This complex could lead to some nice redevelopment in Carson.
Whether it leads to redevelopment or not, the reality of building a facility like this in LA is that the real estate cost is a major component. To work this out with CSUDH is a coup. Quite simply, with real estate costs what they are in LA, you are not going to find a plot of land large enough to house a stadium, parking lot, practice fields, etc., in "nice" part of town without spending multi-millions just on the land.
A couple questions, where are the lights going..on the roof? second if you look closely at the pressbox or luxury suites not sure which is which there appears to be white boxes on top of the windows and some sort of trussing below..is this for ad sales?
What's really ironic is that the day these were taken, Superbowl Sunday, the weather was absolutely perfect... pretty much the way it is 98% of the year in SoCal. But the Official Webcam still made it look like we were in a hailstorm. Someone needs to do somethign about it... tm
Wicked Cool is the roof going to be over all of the seating areas? that place is going to rock. talk about a home field advantage.
It'd be awesome if they wrote LOS ANGELES in gold paint on the seats in one side, and GALAXY on the other. Hell, they can even whore out the ends and paint the Nike swoosh on them, if it brings in extra dough.
A lot of the questions here about the roof and ads, etc, can be answered by taking the "virtual tour" on the galaxy site.. You need quicktime to view it. Above the new pix they just added, on the below link, just click on the virtual tour link. http://www.lagalaxy.com/ntcu-update.html
The seats are green aren't they? Besides, it isn't THE national stadium is it? I thought it was just where they were putting the fed HQ.
Thery're calling it "home" of the national teams but your correct, it's not the national stadium. At the link, above there's info on all of that. Notice it says "in addition to" here when refering to the national teams: "In addition to the natural grass stadium, the teams will have full use of the facility's five training fields, a practice area and a central building to house office space, locker rooms, a weight training room, physical therapy training rooms and player lounges"
