Me and my Fiancee are extremely interested in this but I can't get the site to come up. Is there a mirror anywhere, assuming the link is correct?
Just a reminder..... Next weekend will be a great one! With the Revs in the final and all the activities surrounding MLS Cup, next weekend will be even better than the last time we hosted in '99. Much more better. US Soccer fans from around the country will be in town for the Cup, and the Midnight Riders are hosting a few events that give the supporters the chance to socialize and also to discuss team/league relations and other issues. Members and non-members alike are welcome to attend these activities. They include Saturday's Supporters Summit, the Bash, and our usual tailgate. MLS supporters have also been invited to the MLS Gala on Saturday night. And don't forget the Riders' Charity auction!!! As Magpie said, details can be found on the Midnight Riders website. See you there.... -amy
parking? Help! We'll be at the MLS Cup next Sunday, and cheering for New England. We're bringing our motorhome....anyone know how much parking will be? Last time we were in Foxboro the cost seemed to be whatever the person at the gate felt like charging. Thanks; see you Sunday.
Re: parking? Motorhomes and RVs I believe must park in the P5 lot. I think the parking is uaually $30 for Revs games, but with it being the cup, it might be more.
I live in Providence and haven't heard anything about MLS events going on. I check the Providence Journal everyday. What kind of a sham job is the MLS and the Revs doing for marketing on this? THey should have been promoting this and the final months ago. Way to go Pats marketing!!!
Never trust the Revolution/Pats to do marketing properly: Check out www.midnightriders.com/summit_2002/Summit_Info.htm for the schedule of events for fans and supporters for Saturday and Sunday.
parking, etc. Weber King, thank you! We'll be prepared for $30+ to park the motorhome, and will look for the P5 gate. Go, Revs!!~
I know I've been talking smack about you guys (revs) on these boards, butall that aside. What do you guys think of that jackass in Miami not wanting to give up the Supporters Shield? On top of that there is also some jackass in LA that believes he deserves the Shield despite not even having a supporters group. Being a member of the RIOT SQUAD I can tell you none of us care if we get it, we already know we won it, however we do believe the Galaxians should get it being that they have been there from day 1. Im going to try and get some us RIOT SQUAD members and head out there for the summit just to see if that idiot from Miami shows up. Personally us in the group would rather have a new trophy made and have that other one retired just to rid of that fool and his stupid "I will not give up the trophy unless I am given a chance to voice my compaints in front of MLS honchos". this year we gave out a trophy to a fan voted player of the year for the G's I designed the trophy check it out it's really kewl and a million times better than the shield ever was. Click below to view the pics http://lariotsquad.net/avatars/trophy/images/lars43_jpg.gif http://lariotsquad.net/avatars/trophy/images/lars37_jpg.gif http://lariotsquad.net/avatars/trophy/images/lars39_jpg.gif http://lariotsquad.net/avatars/trophy/images/lars30_jpg.gif
"Do I get to drink the other half?" Now THAT is an excellent trophy. Whomever's the genius behind it I bow down with respect. The Magpie
Thanks, I figured lets be different, so we thought it would be kewl if it had a Conn Smyth look to it, so we found a keg and had a base made for it, The whole thing was close to $1500.00 it has 18 name plates and the first one has Lexi's name, every year from now on it will be passed down to a new player a la Stanley Cup. btw that's me standing next to Lexi. I think our trophy is better than the supports shield.
Almost forgot, front of trophy base is a plaque that says. Veni, Imbibi, VIci and under that is has all the RIOT SQUAD memebers names on it. (We came , we drank, we conquered)
Chi chi? YOU BETTA RESPECT HIS AUTHORITAH!!! Actually, even though I am heading up domestic parties in LA, I just wanted to compliment the Midnight Riders for the organizational skills in hosting this Summit. Nice one, fellas. Tommy Mack www.lariotsquad.net PS: Check out the new Riot Squad t-shirts. You need one!
Just a reminder all ... with a busy weekend of activities ahead for the Revolution, we wanted to make sure to invite everyone again to the activities tomorrow. The MLS Supporter's Summit, at the Four Points Sheraton in Norwood, is a great chance to meet and discuss issues with fans around the country. Also with Don Garber and others scheduled to be there for a Q&A session (with us, the fans), it should be a rather interesting and informative afternoon. The MLS Gala. This is where the winners of the MLS awards will receive their awards, and also the Supporter's Shield will officially passed along. This is a dress up event. The MLS Bash ... right after the Gala ends, we go party at Blake's Tavern in Providence. More information on all three events is available at http://www.midnightriders.com. Please let us know if you're interested! Monty
I was amazed how poorly the Eastern conference (other than the host/participating team, obviously) was represented at the Supporters Summit. Are very few fans coming to the game, is it a reflection of the poor season by the east, or did they just forgo the Summit? There was just one representative each from DC, Chicago, Metro and Columbus. On the other hand, San Jose had 6-7 representatives, Kansas City 4-5, and one each from Dallas and Colorado. There were also 20-25 Rev fans and 10-12 Galaxy supporters. But the Summit was excellent. Great discussion by all the fans and wonderful dialogue with the MLS reps (Garber, Gazidis, Abbott, Wilt, and the Executive of the Year from DC). Garber in particular was surprisingly frank and forthcoming in his answers. Several people were taking notes, there was a lot of good stuff said.
