The question I have is if there's a situation where the timer gets down to something small and there's lightning on the far east end of the radius with nothing else in the area, is there an unofficial "fck it" rule?

I truly can't imagine a possibility of the timer hitting three seconds and there's lightning out by Reynoldsburg and the clouds are moving east, but...it also wouldn't surprise me if that would call for the 30-min timer to reset. Is there a buffer of some sort?
