An unhappy Palhinha is better than no Palhinha. They'd be locked in for relegation if he left IMO. Might be the single-most important player to his team in the entire league.
I'm not particularly worried about that. I'm sure he's not happy now but I think he's the kind of character who will get over it and play hard for the team. What I am a little worried about right now is Liverpool making a move for him in the next few hours.
Liverpool still might get their guy from Bayern: Sources confirm Ryan Gravenberch deal should be and will be fine despite the incredible tournaround with João Pahlinha 🚨🔴 #LFCLiverpool believe all documents needed are already signed. pic.twitter.com/4fay2Webcg— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) September 1, 2023
As long as they planned on keeping Joao, Tyler made absolutely no sense. A big chunk of Fulham's transfer budget on a guy who would rarely play??? And I'm sure Tyler wouldn't have been too keen to move to Fulham in that scenario.
If they planned on keeping him... agreed! But if they knew he was getting and/or sniffing out other opportunities and planning to leave... Would have made more sense to get a replacement and help him along (for max xfer fee, of course).
They absolutely did. Rebuffed the West Ham interest earlier in the window and this Bayern bid came pretty much out of nowhere.
Stayed. Window closed in Germany before they finalized the transfer. Fulham didn’t want to let him go before getting a replacement and time ran out.
A lot of us suspect that the club only entertained this drama here at the end of the window to give the fans something to feel happy about when it went away, given that they basically couldn’t sign any other new players. The roster is thin, and there are some serious holes in it. Fulham should not be relegated this year, but that has more to do with the lack of quality in other teams, and not much to do with their own quality. This is not going to be a great season for the club.

Player of the game vs Luton Town last weekend according to fotmob.com Accurate passes: 140/148 (95%) Accurate long balls: 5/8 (63%) Touches: 156 Tackles won: 2/3 (67%) Clearances: 3 Defensive actions: 6 Recoveries: 8 Duels won: 6
Not to anyone who actually watched it! https://www.friendsoffulham.com/forum/index.php?topic=91716.0 Fulham had like 78% possession and those statistical sites love the fact he and his CB partner completed something like 150 passes (mostly back and forth between each other).
He attempted 148 passes in ONE GAME??? I think I've seen entire teams barely surpass that (granted, they were very heavily outmatched, but still).
Ream subs on against Norwich in the 83rd minutes, for Bassey. Thought he was going to have the day off. Jedi came on earlier, so maybe Ream was jealous? Fulham lead 2-1.
Apparently Bassey got hurt, so Ream was probably supposed to rest but pressed into action. Finishes 2-1.
