Come January, he'll have spent a decade playing in England. I rate Boca and DeMerit higher than Ream but he's played far longer abroad than either of them.

It boggles my mind that relegation bait clubs in the PL pay drastically more than non-CL clubs throughout Europe. One would think Ligue 1 should have higher wages with regard to France's economic power and surplus of talent in the country.
It’s really an easy answer. The EPL has huge international appeal and thus commands huge TV contracts that dwarf all other soccer leagues.
Deloitte does an annual football revenue that puts Le Ligue total revenue at 1/3 that of the EPL. While Fulham is not always in the EPL it's there enough to likely have average revenue above the average Le Ligue club. Portugal is an amateur division compared to the EPL. "Winning the Championship play-off final and earning promotion to the Premier League is understood to be worth hundreds of millions of pounds, though it varies season by season. In 2020, Deloitte suggested that victory in the play-off final could see an increase in revenue of between £135 million to £265 million, depending on whether a promoted team can avoid immediate relegation. Official figures for the 2018-19 season showed that broadcast revenue totalling £2.4 billion ($3bn) was distributed among the 20 clubs in the Premier League. Of that, each club was guaranteed at least £34.3m ($43.4m) in equal share payments, £43m ($54.4m) in international TV and £4.9m ($6.2m) in central commercial payments: a base line of roughly £82.5 million ($104.4m) per team, regardless of position. As well as that, clubs were given merit payments - ranging from £1.9m for last-placed Huddersfield Town to £38.3m for champions Manchester City - and 'facility fees' which depended upon the number of televised games they were involved in." https://www.goal.com/en-us/news/cha...uch-premier-league/17nz5miq9ytix1wkm1w5q2kozd
I know that it's an easy answer but it shouldn't be dwarfing to the extent that it does. Ligue 1 could have huge international appeal across Africa same as La Liga across Latin America. Not to the extent of the PL but certainly no pushover.
There is a lot more economic power in Asia than in Africa or Latin America, and EPL is way ahead of other leagues in the Asian market, as well as here, at least for English-language coverage. Mexican fans care more about their own league than La Liga except maybe for the Clasico which everybody watches.

Millwall 1-2 Fulham final, Fulham with 2 goals in the first 8', not conceding until 87'. Ream went the full distance.
Is Ream on his way to Dempsey/McBride-esque stature at the club? He's been there for nearly seven years now.
He’s been a key component to them bouncing back multiple times, so he should be without a doubt. He was player of the season and is consistently one of the top possession CBs in the Championship.
If they go up again they should leave a Reserve team in the Championship so Ream can continue playing for Fulham in that division. He can’t hack the Prem but really seems to have figured the second division out!
so why exactly is he so effective in the Championship yet can't hang in the Premier League? He can't have been so trash otherwise he wouldn't have started as much as he did in the PL.
Smart, positionally sound, reasonably good on the ball, but just a bit shy of the athleticism/speed it takes to run with the big dogs on a team fighting for its life in the EPL, esp at his age. And doesn't really bring anything special going forward to recommend him. But you could do worse as defensive backup.
