Ream with the start in today's EFL Cup game today, wearing the captain's armband. Playing alongside Antonee Robinson. Edit: Fulham 2-0 Sheffield Wednesday, as the second half begins
Never in doubt: Fulham 2-0 Sheffield Wednesday. Next up, @ Brentford, a team with a point to prove. Here's the ELF 4th Round Draw (4 of 16 slots still to be decided): Lincoln City/Liverpool v Arsenal Burnley v Manchester City/Bournemouth Brentford v Fulham Everton v West Ham Bristol City/Aston Villa v Stoke City Leyton Orient/Tottenham v Chelsea Newport County v Newcastle United Brighton v Manchester United
"Marlon Santos is expected to travel to the UK today in order to put the finishing touches on his transfer from Sassuolo to Fulham, according to Gianluca di Marzio. With an exasperated Scott Parker rubbing his eyes in disbelief as the Cottagers shipped goal after goal in their first two games back in the Premier League, the Cottagers boss has turned to a £14 million Brazilian to solve the problem. If the error-strewn performances of Michael Hector and Tim Ream against Leeds and Arsenal are anything to go by, Marlon should represent an immediate upgrade on the current central defenders at Parker’s disposal." https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2020/09/...al-after-president-confirmed-cottagers-offer/
Santos is right footed so Tim has that going for him. Looked like Fulham are paying a transfer fee premium to get the guy.
I mean Ream can't be blamed for the Leeds loss, he wasn't even on the bench for that one. No question Fulham need to upgrade their defense though.
Agree that comment was oddly worded. Ream was partly to blame for Arsenal, but not at all for Leeds. Ream is in a good spot, in my view. He turns 33 next month. The end is in sight at Fulham, but he can still play a useful role (likely as a reserve/spot-starter) this season. As has been oft-discussed, afterwards he could find a safe landing spot back here in MLS, ideally in St Louis, where he is from and where he (and his wife) went to college.
Fulham fans know he's not Premiership material, but they respect and like him. He's going to get a big goodbye when the time to leave arrives.
https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2020/09/28/report-fulham-join-everton-in-race-to-sign-jean-clair-todibo/ Stating the obvious: "Scott Parker’s side have been too easy to score against. First Arsenal won 3-0 at Craven Cottage, before fellow promoted side Leeds United beat them 4-3 at Elland Road. Seven goals conceded in two games is worrying, and Fulham won’t want a repeat of their 2018-19 campaign which saw them concede 81 goals on the way to relegation. A new centre-back must be a priority for the Whites ahead of the deadline."
That would be interesting. I think he looked better at CDM than CB for Bolton in the Premier League a few years ago.
He has literally never played as a midfielder for Fulham, so I have some doubts. His last appearance in which he's listed as a DM is April 18, 2015, in a 2-2 Championship draw between Bolton and Brentford. It looks like a 5-4-1 to me.
I'm really testing my memory here, but I want to say when he played DM for Bolton it was surprisingly better than I would have guessed.
Fulham need a lot of help. Gotta hope clubs like Southampton, Burnley, and West Brom are worse than them. Villa are completely outclassing them. As mentioned, the biggest position for help is center back. Hell, they might need two of them
yeah I think Tim has done okay pressed up to midfield. Aaaand, start the second half theres number three. Fulham need some serious help all over sadly. Villa have a ton of pace. Trezuguet is absolutely menacing their right side.
Crap i jinxed him. Mings beat him off a free kick for goal as they were all holding offside line but Mitrovic kept him onside. Guess more Mitrovic's fault
