Give me some pre-game predictions friends! Newcastle 3 Fulham 1 I think Shearer will have a goal, I think Ameobi will have a goal, and I think one of our defenders is going to sneak in for a goal.
There is some type of delay going on at Fulham....the Newcastle World guys said something to the effect of a security breach/issue. 30 minutes is the determined delay at the moment.
Starting 11 for the Boys in Black Given Hughes Bernard o'brien Bramble Jenas Speed Bowyer Robert Shearer Ameobi Bench Harper Ambrose Lua-Lua CALDWELL Viana They gave an injury update on Dyer but I missed the extent of the conversation...and of course Bellamy will be out for a little while just having had Knee surgery last night.
the game has been put off for another 20 minutes because of this security threat...Apparently there is a suspicious car parked near the stadium and they have closed off all transportation in the area investigating.
Wow..we are about 2 minutes in and Magpies are down 2-0 already!!!! WHAT GIVES!!!!!!! Clark in the 5th minute Saha in the 7th minute
Not a lot happening with 7 minutes left in the half. Bowyer is getting a lot of touches that is about as much as I'm gathering from the audio.
The lads are really impressive in this second half..they are controlling the tempo of the game with domination of posession.
Its a final Newcastle 3 Fulham 2 (Robert, Shearer, Shearer) WE ARE NOW IN THE TOP HALF OF THE TABLE......"THE SLEEPING GIANT HAS AWAKENED...WATCH OUT ENGLAND"
What a great performance from Big Al...I'm glad we managed to hang on for all 3 points. It makes me burst into song, "Same old Shearer, Always scoring" hehe.
damn! another stunning performance. Not only did Robert come through, but three goals came from Geordies.
Don't call it a comeback, I've been here for years! (LL Cool J for those who don't know.) Shearer is the man! Thanks for the udpates, Trackman20.
No worries mate.....what else would a college boy be doing on a tuesday afternoon....attending classes? I THINK NOT! haha....Its a glorious time to be on the Magpie Wagon...as I feel things are looking sky high for the fellows! The only bad news to report is Bellamy being gone until February, but I have to admit, other than Bellamy's performance against NAC Breda (1st Leg) he hasn't been too effective for us. On the other hand you have a young fellow in Shola Ameobi who is going to get the opportunity of a lifetime by stepping on the field just about everynight for the next four months to show his worth to the club. He has been affective the past two matches and I look for his confidence to only go higher. This Bellamy incident could have a VERY THICK candy coat to it! Shearer will be out in two seasons....We will be left with a duo of Craig Bellamy and Shola Ameobi (assuming we don't spend big bucks on someone else).....and call me crazy...but I have EXTREME confidence in Ameobi becoming quite the player for the Magpies! I'm excited about our future gentlemen!
Once we start beating sides like Fulham 3-0, then I'll be feeling sky-high, but until that time, I won't be that excited just yet. Well you have more confidence than I do in Shola. He's had quite a few chances to show his potential and only in the last few matches against lower EPL teams has he shown much. I know there's been a lot of hype over him, but we'll see if he can perform consistently. Shola has been touted as a really exciting prospect up front and really, he has failed to deliver. I don't mean to sound negative about our situation overall, but we still have some things to work out.

Leaving aside the first 10 minutes, that was a fantastic performance last night. Apart from Aaron Hughes, who had a shaky evening and lost the ball to Fulham several times, including for the first goal, and Titus' normal quota of ludicrous errors which we survived, the whole team played well. Shearer was outstanding, however. It was a brilliant exhibition of centre-forward play. Even when 2 goals down in the first 7 minutes, the team clearly believed that they were going to win the game. As soon as Robert pulled a goal back there was no real doubt who the winners were going to be. In the second half, apart from a flurry in the last ten minutes (in particular Shay saving with his feet from Legwinski) the Toon dominated and really played well enough to have scored more goals. A mention to the supporters as well. At 2 goals down the support didn't falter and was into overdrive in the second half. All in all a great night. Not only 3 points, but the boost of coming back from a two goal deficit and winning. Our team's confidence should be high now and ought to carry us to wins against Pompey and the Villa.
