I could less about the Olympics. We all know no sends their absolute best for that. There's only 3 competitions that matter for Mexico imo. The World Cup, Confederations Cup and the Copa America (when we get invited).
Irrelevant if you care or not really. You seem to discredit Lozano for coaching kids as though it were easy when someone like lavolpe and Hugo both failed miserably doing so
I suppose you're right, I did discredit him. The Olympics is a molero tournament as far as I'm concerned. The fact that Lavolpe and Hugo failed doesn't mean much.
Breathe lads breathe. I noticed the latest WCQ squad released and that though the MF and some FWDs were in foreign leagues not the Goalies and Defenders. My french friend would say, it's not the players fault the soup is so good at home. they don't need to leave. I think exporting more talent to would help develop the program. The world has changed and lack of internationals in the backline and in goal is a sign of lack of quality. The Yanks are shipping their young up and comers with some first choice. They have some domestics but is a small number of their squad now.
Im not that worried that players dont want to leave mexico i mean brazil and argentina won their first world cups with home league players
Lol dumb comment. Easily the best football was being played in those countries at the time. The Mexican league is far behind in terms of athleticism and fitness, that’s why we can’t leave our players in Liga MX.
I agree with Sal, that was a different era. World was bigger, per-Bosman. Let's not talk about winning a WC let's see mexico make and Win a QF.
Y'all hear the rumour that Tata asked the team if he should step down after the Canada game? Apparently the team rallied around him and said he should continue. Not sure what to make of that.
The fact that they rallied around him means very little. Every time a coach is in trouble the players go on social media and the news and say they support the coach. What's interesting is the rumor that HE went to the team and ASKED of he should step down. Makes you wonder if there's noise amongst the players and he hears it. I would probably guess the young guys complaining but stayed quiet when he asked, and instead let the vets speak up saying they supported him.
Do you think this influenced some of his call ups of dudes he had in the doghouse? how long until he calls up someone like cheech?
This is a really good take and hadn't considered the overall idea that you wouldn't want to rock the boat if you're not one of the "core" members or leaders in the team.
I don't agree with this idea. I agree that players in media and public will more likely protect coach, but if this truly happened behind closed doors and they still supported him, then I think it has value.
if the team is truly rallying with TATA then it will reflect on the field in this window of qualifier games
lol this idea I disagree with. Rallying behind your coach wins you 1, maybe 2 games before the emotion wares off and your back to where you were before. He needs to call up the right players and implement the right game plan.
Idk… we’re close to the WC and I’m sure many of these guys were thinking of not losing they’re spots.
Mexico will win tonight and end up qualifying as they should, and this fraud is going to stay until the WC. We all know how this will end.
I think tata tried to return to the nt based in one club like we were doing in the past but he choose a very conflictive team like rayados , the infamous "jugamos cuando queremos" as an example But he will die instead of change the players that arent working
Piojo needs to come in with a much needed fresh approach and stop calling up dead weight. One of the problems is players that don't have it anymore are unwilling to show shame and retire from the NT because they want to hang on for one more WC even if it's to the detriment of the team and Martino fails to see that and continues to rely on these foos.
