Would 32% market share really classify as one? Apple Music has 18% and Amazon Music is around 12% so I can see that it has the same as those two combined, but it doesn't have half the market.
You'll all be shocked to learn that the proposed private equity buy-in into NZ Rugby might be bad for the game Somehow they did a real snow job on selling it in 1388016307375726592 is not a valid tweet id
You are right - something seems screwy - i was relying on a recent tech podcast i listened to on this. It seems to depend how you count because Spotify has a freemium model - so has double the paying subscribers of Apple Music, but 4 times as many users. The 32% is share of paying subscribers. But if you include freemium. spotify is 4x bigger than Apple, and 5x bigger than Amazon I can't seem to find a comparison based on use which is ultimately how revenue to musicians is calculated. i.e the musician gets paid whether or not i pay spotify for a sub, or use the ad supported model.
Seeing a claim this morning that Stan is asking 1.7b GBP and that the team has quietly been for sale for 2 yrs.
The gist of the article was that Stan was approached by an investment group 2 yrs ago and he asked for 1.7b.
Daniel Ek has written to Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke & is expected to make a bid of £1.8bn for the North London club before the end of the week. Ek is confident Kroenke will listen to the offer - which he considers to be a compelling one. [Sky] #afc pic.twitter.com/6r9hTCutQm— afcstuff (@afcstuff) May 3, 2021
Interesting. But it could just be hype. SKY seems to be on a mission to amp up this story, and perhaps any story like it, which would in a way go against any of the Big 6 owners who were trying to be ESL "founders". Everyone is eager to know more of the details of this takeover bid, hostile or otherwise. Especially the debt component.
There is literally no way to do a media-pressured buyout of the Kroenkes unless the fans just start invading the pitch every match until he leaves
Ek is claiming that his bid was rejected by KSE. Arsenal (not sure if this is referring to KSE, Vinai, PR guys, etc...) claim a bid was never received.
Ek was always capping. I feel for the Arsenal fans who fell for it. Serious money people don’t do media tours of their intent to buy into something. That’s not how this works.
https://www.arsenal.com/news/stan-and-josh-kroenke-open-letter This is the latest milquetoast crap that KSE has put out. It's step down in aspirations from one of their previous missives about challenging for UCL.
Lots of buzz about a Qatari royal possibly coming after Arsenal. Couple of cryptic tweets from the royal yesterday referencing KSE needing to sell. Wow that would be some existential dilemma for fans. I’m pretty sure I know which side I would come down on.
