Silverbacks preview This will be the first time a lot of fans in the West will get to see Puerto Rico play and a first for even more to see Juan Ramon Loubriel Stadium. Atlanta is the hot team in the A-league right now, the last time they were on FSW they beat Syracuse 2-1. I thought they looked great in that game even though they were playing on the astro-turf. Gametime is 8pm (ET)
Micheal K. : Notice the crowd actually MADE noise?? It ain't just "Go Team". We got drums. We got percussion. We got trumpets. We got horns. We play 90 minutes... in the stands. Ah, latinos muy caliente! And BTW... more than 7,000 in the house. Anybody notice Alexis Rivera? The Cobi Jones lookalike? He is one of the local dudes, and he has risen to the challenge this year. I understand some MLS dudes have watched him. That "Mime" guy (#8, nickname for a small tropical fly) is OK too. He has adapted to this level. On the other hand Garay (9) is the typical Puerto Rican who does have the idea and the potential, but has yet to adapt to a higher level. Lack of true futbol sense. Mauricio was out on cards, so Garay played. Garay should fare better in two years when he learns. Right now, raw. The other guys: US or foreign... it's the first year anyway. Alcerro (15) is cool. Great signing. GK Uelstchey saved out butts. Twice. The stadium will undergo further renovations for next year. What you saw you will not see again.
Hey, maybe this is stretching it a bit but has anybody by any chance recorded this game. I wanted to watch the game so badly since i'm really interested in checkin out the PR team but unfortunately i don't have FSW. If anybody has recorded it let me know. I'd love to get a copy. Thanks in advance. Nice to read that 7,000 showed up for the game. I remember the days when interest in the sport was almost nonexistant. Glad to hear its changed.
That's a nice little stadium. It seems very intimate. There was a decent crowd at the match as well. I thought the television production of the match was poor.
I saw the game on Fox Sports Espanol. Chacon looks like he's still got it, he made some great passes, seemed Atlanta really wanted to move the ball through him. Could he move back into MLS next year with expansion? Chivas LA? If Atlanta finishes, they win. But neither side generated many good chances, and Chacon aside, most of the passing was poor. #6 for Atlanta ran hard and created things, almost had a goal. Who's he? Wasn't that Diaz Arce for PR? He missed a header late in the second half. A few years ago, he puts that away with a spin and volley. Or something. There were 7,000 there? Send some to Dallas, por favor. Any Atlanta fans - Dallas loaned Jason Thompson, a forward, to ya'll a month ago. Now he's back, word is he didn't do so well. Dallas has some banged up strikers right now, I want him to get a shot. Anyone see him play, any thoughts?
#6 Ivailo Ilarionov He gave us the OT goal against Richmond that started our big win streak a while back. Yes that was Raul Diaz Arce. So far he has an awesome goals/ games played ratio. Jason T looked like he was limited by his leg injury when I saw him come in as a sub against Portland. I think he was back in Dallas in time to play against VB in the USOC 3rd round game.
