He mistranslated English girls into English centerbacks. Common mistake.

well, maybe Torres (one guy) is not the brightest or maybe he's just a really good forward, but to say EPL defenders are not bright is silly. We'll see what Pavluchenko can do.

In which case you'd think that a) Spanish sides would beat English sides in European competition all the time, that b) Spain would have less goals scored per game and that (c) all Spanish players moving to England would do well.

None of those things are at all true, so I'll have to pass on Torres's anecdotal wisdom.

Diouf is actually a very intelligent player. He's just not as good as his Japorea performance indicated. Baros is also not a bad player, but again, not as good as he is for the Czechs.

Villareal is now the definition of top flight competition? Um.......OK? Are there 5 #10s better? Sure - but what do we really call #10s? For instance, Robinho is likely to come over as a #10 for Chelsea, do you consider him one? Is he better than players like Kaka, Messi, etc? No, he's not. And why don't we ask the Spain supporters how great he is?
He's a good player, but he hasn't shown it in a top league. Perhaps he'll come to the EPL or La Liga and be the second coming of Zidane. Or perhaps he'll be the next Veron. I'm also not sure I see him as a pure #10, but we'll see.

    I wouldn't consider Robinho a #10

Messi is not a #10, though with his ridiculous talent he can play pretty much anywhere apart from the central midfield. Robinho as versatile as he is offensively, is the most overrated player in the world and nowhere near world class imho.

Kaka and Totti are the premier #10's in the world.

Kaka's not a classical #10 either though. Who is anymore? And as far your concern about Robinho - I suppose we'll see, won't we? I tend to think of players good enough to start for Brazil for several years (not named Roque Jr.) as world class, but I can see how you'd be upset Chelsea pursued him and not Arshavin.

Guess what? The Brazilian media also pressured Dunga to call Ronaldinho for the Olympics and he stunk the place up. You think I'm bitter that Chelsea persued Robinho? First of all that was the LAST club I wanted Andrei to go to. Secondly, Robinho is linked with Chelsea because of Scolari and only Scolari. He's going to flop in England. He hasn't set the world alight in La Liga and he'll have a much harder time in England considering the vast differences in the way football is played there. Most overrated player in the world.

    Re: Pavluchenko @ Spurs tread

And the Brazilian media have had what to do with two Brazil managers, Schuster (who has been a huge Robinho supporter), Mijatovic and Felipao believing Robinho is a good player? How are those situations even remotely comparable? Has Robinho been seen 20 pounds overweight while being booed by home fans recently? I didn't think so.
He has actually played very well in Spain (was excellent last season). Nor are the differences in football between the two places all that vast. Besides, if Robinho could score all those goals against Spanish defenders, doesn't your silly Torres logic imply he's going to score twice that many in England?

There's a reason why Arshavin's likely on his way to Spurs and Robinho to Chelsea. (And yes, its largely because of Felipao. Now, I wonder why Felipao, a manager who makes decisions the press doesn't like (Romario) is in position to coach Chelsea? Brazilian talent. Hmmmm...........)

Messi is a #10 because he understands the game on a whole other level. He knows when to pass, how to create with the ball and then pass/take it himself/and move without the ball to create goals.

Robinho is one of the most exciting players right now, he's absolutely magical with the ball. But he goofs around too much and doesn't know how to be ruthless at all times, he plays for the fans. But for someone like me, who has seen him play live in person twice, he'd be the best player to watch play, Robinho, Christina, and Messi.

Believe me , imo Messi is the best player in the world when healthy. But he usually plays to wide to call him a #10. I'll take your word for it that Robinho is exciting live, but he's nowhere near Messi's or Ronaldo's class.

That's an average fee for a striker in England's inflated market.

How many Ballon d'Or winners do Milan currently have on their roster?

    Hm let me count

    1. Ronaldo
    2. Ronaldinho
    3. Kaka
    4. Sheva

    Isn't that a little excessive?

I hope Pato will give #7 to Sheva cause he does have history with that number at the club

At the least wear 77 instead of 76. His 2nd coming so 77 would be kind of cool, not the year you were born
