Also, I wonder who the player was that he references who was going to come but ended up somewhere else? $$$?
Also, the fact that an NWSL club came in last year and offered Gilchrist a contract IN SEASON is ludicrous. Not that the NCAA would do anything about it, but one of the hosts predicts you'll eventually see players go pro midseason.
I’ve given up on attempting to decipher the selection / seeding process. I will say that it makes zero sense to me to consider non-conference schedule separately from the full schedule. But, no one really knows whether that’s the case or not.
I didn't listen to the podcast, but we got a commitment from the former Stanford commit who then turned pro. That was a year ago. She's a real stud in the back line
I kind of wondered if her move to FSU was also about her wanting to go to college a year early. She was originally a 2025 (she's a young 2006), but when she switched to FSU, it was as a 2024. Stanford hasn't had many players that have reclassified, compared to the volume you see at FSU, UNC, etc. Just a thought...
Worth a listen - even with the weird ad reads in the middle of him talking - but I think the player you are referring to was Jordan Bugg. She's legit.
Looks like from social media/Yuna's IG - that she is going pro. She follows Bay and Wave, and I didn't notice any other clubs when I looked. Wave just signed Godfrey. It will be interesting to see where Yuna ends up. Talented player.
Waiting for JD to make a decision! With her we have a good shot, even with a lot of new players to win a natty. W/O her, top 10ish IMO. She is the best player in women's college soccer and I don't think it's super close! No other player commands 2 or 3 players to mark her. Jasmine Aikey is a stud, but just not as dominant as JD.
I would be shocked if she didn't. She could have left after her freshman year and succeeded. I will cheer for her no matter where she goes.. I will be interested to see how BP does w/o the best player IMO to ever suit up for FSU!

Oof. I didn’t expect her to leave. That’s a lot of rebuilding up top. Besides Hudson and Dudley, players from the 2025 roster with more than three goal contributions returning: Touray, with 2g, 2a. That’s the full list. For two or more goal contributions, add Dantas, Ahmad, Brandon, and McGovern. Gotta think Dudley moves on at this point (though I’ve thought that the last couple years). Gonna be a significant rebuilding year to an extent FSU hasn’t had to weather in a while
Big rebuild this year. At this point, I'll speculate (I know it's too early) that making the 16 or 8 may be good with this group. the one positive with Rain and Price back and the new recruits, our back line could be very good.
Did Rain get a waiver for a sixth year? Great if so. I thought her getting five mins to close out the last home game didn't bode well for a return either, rather looked like the coaches trying to give her a send off.
When she came in, I believe she had 2 years of eligibility. She could easily be eligible for this coming year and next year IMO.
And Dudley is gone. I'll be very curious to see where she lands. She's a special talent. I hope she ends up somewhere she can flourish and continue to develop.
