On the scoresheet, again. Assists on the opener, and subs out late with a 3-1 lead. Ended 4-1. Great late season win against a strong side.

Novakovich on the bench for Frosinone as they go into the last Serie B match day 3 points clear of Perugia for the final promotion playoff spot. Perugia have the tiebreaker having won the head to head season series 4 points to 1. The game, at home against 4th place Pisa, is just underway.

While Nova has ok numbers (3G/4A in 28 games), he's been benched probably because he does nothing for the team except try to score. They need more involvement from all players in defense against this strong Pisa side.

The only way they lose their spot in the playoff is if they lose 0-5 and Perugia scores four in their second half against Monza. Not happening.

BTW, the first half ended 0-2 to Pisa.

Frosinone scored and Nova came in right after to look for the tie. They were safe, with Perugia not scoring (they got one near the end).

    ---

It's over. Just checked and first tie-breaker is head to head, not goal difference. Since Perugia beat Frosinone 3-0 at home and tied them 0-0 away, it means they are in the playoff and Frosinone is out.

Nova didn't do anything, to be honest.

Final score FRO 1-2 PIS (and PER 1-0 MON).

“A step closer to eyeing a move”? That barely means anything.

I was certainly one of those people post Couva who was advocating for "everyone to get a call"

I'm glad Nova got his look, and it's pretty clear that he hasn't player well enough / deserved to take our #9 job - or even to receive a callup right now....but that's why you call these guys in.

I wonder if there manager is concerned about having too many Americans.

I think this a good move for Nova. Despite the scoring numbers being down last season, he was pretty instrumental in Frosinone's attack which was, I think, 4 or 5th best in Serie B. I wanna say Nova had 7 assists or so. I don't think he will have to play that "post-man" distributor in Venezia. The couple of matches I managed to see last season, Frosinone just feed the ball into Nova and two speedy wingers played off him. Maybe he gets the chance to the end product for Venezia. They seem - at least on paper - to have distributors and he can just play that 9. I towuld be pretty cool to see a midfield of Tessman and Busio (if he doesn't leave) and Jack de Vries feeding the ball into Nova.

Possibly. But there’s plenty of tape on Nova from Italian league games. He’s almost like a domestic player signing at this point.

Probably more concerned about American tourists in Venice than American footballers at the club.

Severely part-time. As in the players' income from playing will - just about - cover the costs they'll incur.

    For some of them.

What a terrible plan for a preseason. Hey, let's go roll a bunch of carpenters and waiters.

    I love it.

Its how most clubs and their competitive leagues began for nearly every sport I know of.

Sure, at the beginning of their pre-season.

But this close to opening day?

    Edit:
Fully endorse the idea of "big boy" D1 & D3 sides playing a few games against regional amateur teams
