They're lucky to only be losing 0-1 at this point. Pordenone had seven shots on goal to a single one by Frosinone. I didn't think Nova had a good game, but I agree he was likely removed due to a nag. Other times he's been even worse and kept playing the full game.

Ending with Frosinone asking for a PK (not given), and 9' added.

What a backhanded compliment. Yes, he did have a good game. When they got the ball to his feet he got it out and made a play.

1-0 was the fair result. Pordenone's shots came heavily outside the box. That's how their goal was ultimately scored, on a screamer. They were the better team w/ more coherent build-up and attacks, but not by a large margin. Neither team were very creative or technical. That was exacerbated by the reffing.

If Frosinone could have held them off they may have been small faves to advance w/ no road goal against. But now they're considerable dogs having to score 2+ or take in penalties while keeping Pordenone in check along the way. Would have helped if Frosinone's late goal would have counted. Ruled out on offside.

He's in the starting 11 in the final leg of this playoff round. About 10 minutes in and Frosinone has a 1-0 lead.

So they go up if it stays like this, or is there another round of playoffs?

Wow, that's huge (and for Nova individually as well)! Frosinone already cleared Pordenone on road goals. Just need to secure the win now.

Doing well in the hold-up to keep possession and creating chances w/ his dribbling here & there in spite of Frosinone semi-bunkering w/ a lead on the road.

Two notable actions: post-up and quick turn passed the defender to breakaway but got fouled and drew a yellow. Another time he beat the defender on the wing to roll a dangerous ball thru space into the box but a teammate couldn't race to it first.

    2-0 Frosinone at half.

Subbed out both fw's, Novakovich & Ciano in the 59th minute. Didn't see the ball w/ the full bunker, poor ball-winning, and passing of the cm's.

Up to the rest of Frosinone to hold on to their lead. Need to avoid conceding 2 in the last 30+ to advance.

I believe that this is the semifinal, so they would have to win the next round to get promoted.

Finishes 2-0. Frosinone advances to play Spezia in the final for promotion to Serie A.

If the rumors that the November camp will be Euro-based players are true, then it seems nearly impossible that he doesn't get called up for that.

He's def due a goal for us. A fitting prize for a Serie A player if that is meant to be.

I like the way he immediately moved into space after chesting the ball.

He knows how to play soccer. Not that high ceiling probably, but as it stands now, Zardes+ would be very helpful.

So Spezia finished third in Serie B with 61 points, 7 better than Frosinone.

In the regular season, they split the two games. Spezia won 2-0 in November and Frosinone won 2-1 on July 3.

In the first game, Novakovich came on at halftime down 1-0; Frosinone gave up the second goal in the 90th minute when they, obviously, had numbers pushed forward. In the second game, our boy went 77 minutes, leaving with the score 1-1.

The two-leg playoff matches are Sunday and next Thursday.

His game reminds me of Kenny Cooper. Lovable big guy who wants to play like he’s a small forward but should use his size more effectively.

Id like to see him go up but I wonder what if any plans Fros has for him. Would they keep him on or dump him for a stronger 'perceived' player for Serie A.

Yet strangely, with the national team, he averaged better than a goal every 90 minutes.
