I’m honestly surprised this is the first we’re hearing about ICE turning up at a soccer tournament. Fearful for our upcoming state cup in south Texas…

Nashville SC's Latino supporters group didn't attend Saturday's game because of reports ICE was going to target people leaving the game.

I had a referee friend that had screwed up his VISA renewal. His ref team was pulled over traveling back from reffing a HS event in the Rio Grande Valley. He was detained and deported ~8 months later

Here’s a comment in the thread from someone who supposedly worked with them

Posted it here because I figured someone on here might also work this tournament. Something g about “all the morning games got cancelled”, I wonder if that’s related.

Is it possible this affected players/teams/spectators also? Was it just the referees they were looking for?

The morning games were all cancelled because of weather. Apparently they were forced to play 25 minute halves on many of the playoff games on the final day(s)!

Man that’s unfortunate and probably unexpected for May in Maryland. Not like the idiots who schedule mid-summer tournaments in the middle of Dallas or other places that will get 100+ degrees

Once assessed at a USYSA Regional tournament in Las Vegas. U-16 boys semi-final scheduled at 2 p.m. The game ended up being defending national champions v host state team. Did not end well. 114 degrees in the shade and no shade. Last 20 minutes of the game, referee starting to wander randomly. Game went to over time. Game ended about a minute and a half early when a fist fight between the parents spills out onto the field, past a very surprised AR2.

That would be a great threat to parents to keep them in line
