Okay, now lets get to the really important stuff! Where are the concessions (beer) ! And, where are the restrooms (after beer)!
That actually raises a good question. Will they still only sell league-sponsor Budweiser (blahhhhh) at the new stadium or are they going to upgrade the concession stand choices?
Good question......can the teams sign individual deals with beer vendors or are they forced to use the Anheiser mafia?
If any of you have been up Frisco way, you might have noticed the mural on the Roughrider's parking garage. Its a Coors ad with a picture of a Roughrider player. You actually have to look towards the bottom to realize its actually a beer ad, which is pretty cool. I think they've added one for the hockey team on the other side, as well (JH intl, copyright 2004). Some citizens have complained of this crass comercialism sitting right at the entrance to our fine city......I just think its pretty cool.
Are the denizens of your fair city upset of comercialism on the roads for a lack of zoning or are they upset (those that raised their voices) because there is BEER on an add?
Well, I think they are upset because we have pretty strict sign ordinances and these were given exemptions. I think a lot of Frisconians feel the city is way too accomadating towards the sports teams. I'm sure some have a problem with it simply because of an anti-alcohol stance, but not most.
You'd be surprised what stupid conservative people with nothing else better to do but worry about dumb things will complain about. Because god knows when I was younger everytime I saw a beer ad I wanted a beer. Forget raising your kids right, just blame others, its fun!
Dont knock conservatism, you will be there before you know it. I agree 100% about people raising their kids right instead of blaming their environment for any problems.
Well they svcked pretty hard at oposing signage. Driving through 121 in Frisco is like driving through the Las Vegas strip during the daytime. Turn to the left and right and all I can see are signs for chain restaurants, retail stores, realtors and home builders. All signs of economic progress. Some people are never pleased...
Stonebriar does light up like an amusement park at night. Permanent signage they let fly as long as it passes city approval. They are very strict about handbills, flyers, etc.
