The Frisco Enterprise ran a couple articles the other day that present the stadium project in a positive light. "Frisco: A sports city in the making" is a particularly good read. Frisco: A sports city in the making Teamwork may bring Burn to Frisco
I don't know if this has been talked about before, but will the Dallas Cup tournament relocate to the new stadium? It would be perfect place with the intimate stadium + all the fields. Good luck with the stadium...(fingers crossed for y'all)
This is really huge! It is a dream of mine to do something similar in Denver. Hopefully in the next 5 years.
Indoor swimming pools. Good for a high school swim team. All that Frisco is doing is very nice. But the only thing that will bring them to the attention of the rest of the nation is a soccer stadium. Also note that internationally, the MLS Cup final outdraws the Super Bowl.
Seems as if it's an almost sure thing. Frisco city council is trying to raise the towns image. The School District down there would, after an initial payment, save lots of money. Burn start making money. Best of luck to you. I'll have to come visit my aunt and uncle in North Richland Hills if this happens.
Umm. What? I mean, I'm certain (well, Ad Week has said as much) that the figures given by American sources for the Super Bowl are heavily exaggerated, but I'm still betting that members of the US Armed Forces alone watching the Super Bowl probably outnumber the interntional audience for MLS Cup.
I am talking about individual nations. When the MLS Cup is played, most leagues are just getting started up. Also, the BBC heavily promotes the games. Lots of highlingts in the summer, when it is usually the only soccer around.
