It's that simple. Post if you agree, don't post here if you don't--if it means that much to disagree, start your own thread. My reasons why: 1. Cheaper than reserved side. This is marketing 101. Offer two prices, one too high, and the other gets them every time. 2. Pick a seat by the game. Sometimes you want down low, other times up high, depends on the game. What if some accountant ended up buying a seat next to me? For a whole year? 3. Bring a friend, two, five, eight, doesn't matter until you already bought tickets and are looking for seats. If five teenagers joined at the hip cannot sit next to each other, they won't buy. This way if they want to sit together, it's their problem to get there on time. Either way, ticket is bought. 4. Profanity on the festive side was never a problem. It IS a problem in Sucklack, and it will be in FRISCO unless they do this. 5. Hardcores don't really care for globs of kids THAT much, and having a festive/family division kept us out of each other's lives. 6. Beer should be cheaper on the reserve side, they paid for their particular seat. 7. The supporters groups grew because we had GREAT SEATS. GREAT SEATS means much enthusiasm from many people. From behind the goals, that enthusiasm never catches on in the rest of the place. Drums front and center please. 8. As a general observation, the Hispanics liked it. They are not coming to Sucklack, and the franchise needs them back. Give them what they like. 9. It would be the only MLS stadium with this set up. It would be a lot like the rest of Latin America. Makes our fans comfy again. 10. I hated people smoking in the stands, but on the festive side they let it slide a little. I'm a soccer fan, I can live without absolute compliance if it's discrete. Not so in Frisco, where lighting up in a non-smoking section would be a major incident. OK, add your own, or just "man I love the festive side, cannot wait for it to come back."
How about this idea: Home Side: Midfield: Reserved; $30+/seat (Club/VIP) Toward goallines: Reserved; $20/seat Away Side: Midfield: Reserved; $20/seat Toward goalines: GA; $16/seat Behind Goals: GA; $12/seat
Good layout vw. The prices however will probably be 20% to 30% higher than what they are at Southlake. I can already see the marketing campaign already, highlighting the things that we used to have at the Cotton Bowl but "New and Improved" to justify the price increase.
Yeah, I'm afraid we'll have to brace ourselves for fairly high prices. I just hope, though, that HSG does some careful market research ahead of time to ensure they don't overprice the seats. For comparisons sake, here're the prices at Crew Stadium and Home Depot Center: Crew Stadium: ........................Single Game ........................Adult/Youth Club Seats:..............$31 (Yellow) Lower Reserved:.....$21/$15 (Grey) Upper Reserved......$19/$15 (Red) North/South Ends...$15/$11 (Blue) Home Depot Center: ........................Single Game ........................Adult/Youth Sideline...................$45 Corner...................$30/$25 Upper Deck...........$28/$20 Goal Line...............$22/$16
Be careful when you mention LA and Frisco in the same 'sentence'. The costs comparisons are miles apart. Remember, HSG is going to maximize concessions/parking profits because of the bitter battles they had with the City of Dallas. And, since HSG is only in debt for 10 mil, they can't justify overpricing 'everything' anyway. So, if they were *really* smart, they would price seats to accomodate the lost latino market; AND attract the family with a multitude of little ones, group rates for soccer moms bringing the whole team - included. One need not price themselves out of a market (not just to the dismay of the established fan base) by overzealous tickets/seats price points.
There should be a section of the stadium that is strategically placed to give the best home-field advantage to the screaming hordes that is priced in a way that the screaming hordes have access to it with a great big disclaimer telling people that just because there are seats doesn't mean you can see the game from them and if you have sensitive ears that you might want to have them plugged during the game. So if that's the same as a midfield GA section, then I'm all for it. And beer.
Ticket Pricing? Does anyone know what the Frisco Minor-Leauge baseball team gets for tickets? That might be a reasonable guage of the threashold for entertainment spending.
Re: Ticket Pricing? Ticket master lists tickets to individual RoughRider games at between $5 and $18. Partial season tickets between home plate and 1st base cost $15/game.
Because besides telling Onstad he sucked during every goal kick and chanting DJ's name, there's very little influence to be had sitting in that CRAP behind the goal section.
