3-2, final.
Orbelín directly involved in all three goals since coming off the bench. -Back to back assists for first two goals-Also got the foul the led up to the third goal for @miseleccionmxEN 🚂🇲🇽🇺🇸 #blueswithselección #LigaMXEng #ElTriEng pic.twitter.com/lVmxDaa3Ty— The Máquina Cruz Azul x9🌟 (@The_MaquinaEN) November 14, 2020 Wouldn't be surprised if he starts against Japan.
Hugo Gonzalez - GK - 5/10The "young" 30-year-old goalkeeper looked uneasy throughout the game. Although he still deserves more chances, Gonzalez was poor with his distribution, partially at fault for the first goal and never seemed to take control of his backline. #ElTriEng— Cesar Hernandez (@cesarhfutbol) November 14, 2020 Charly Rodriguez - RCM - 6/10Fairly average as well. Can't pinpoint too many mistakes but also wanted so much more from Charly in the midfield. The natural successor to HH needs a bit more time before becoming HH. #ElTriEng— Cesar Hernandez (@cesarhfutbol) November 14, 2020 Edson Alvarez - DM - 6.5/10Good distribution but also could have done more to halt some of Korea's counters. Still Mexico's best DM at the moment. #ElTriEng— Cesar Hernandez (@cesarhfutbol) November 14, 2020 Hector Moreno - CB - 7/10That assist pushes him up to a 7. Moreno should have done a better job stopping Korea's 1st goal and also looked a bit slow on counters, but was also a crucial distributor. The veteran was also involved in the creation of Mexico's 2nd goal. #ElTriEng— Cesar Hernandez (@cesarhfutbol) November 14, 2020
Carlos Salcedo - CB - 7/10No doubt that he looked a bit slow on counters, but he ended up scoring the game-winner for El Tri tonight. He's not at the level of Salcedo from 2018 but has also made improvements from the one in 2019. #ElTriEng— Cesar Hernandez (@cesarhfutbol) November 14, 2020 Raul Jimenez - ST - 8/10Sure, he missed a couple of clear chances, but Jimenez scored Mexico's first of the night and also dropped back when needed. Jimenez was also unlucky to not have an assist tonight. One of the hardest-working players on the pitch. #ElTriEng— Cesar Hernandez (@cesarhfutbol) November 14, 2020 SubsUriel Antuna - 7.5/10Orbelin Pineda - 8/10Jorge Sanchez - 6.5/10Nestor Araujo - N/ARodolfo Pizarro - N/A#ElTriEng— Cesar Hernandez (@cesarhfutbol) November 14, 2020
Please leave Chaka in Austria. Rodriguez is much more athletic, stronger, has better ball control and makes those runs that pop off the screen.
I’ve seen this thread bash Antuna over and over again. Happy to see him continue his amazing form. He always plays his heart out with the NT, with passion and fight. He’s a good player... more of an impact sub; but a good one at that.
Lmao..... Also Chaka In my opinion isn’t as bad a lot of people claim to be.... I like him... Think he’s been pretty solid. Especially with his passing. Really composed player. Sánchez tho is a good option as well. Like the way the kid plays. If Sánchez can get more comfortable with the NT, I can see him taking that RB. Chaka is good, just plays too comfortable sometimes. Where as Sánchez, gives us that extra uff. I like them both tho.
Sanchez going to be the starting RB. Don’t know why people have complained about him before, but against Algeria, I was impressed on how he pretty much won all his duals and didn’t let anyone beat him one v one.
Lol, I noticed the same thing. US always plays with a B team against other teams A teams. I don’t even know who they were missing that game when they lost 3-0. Dest, Pulisic and Mckinnie all played.
Lmfao yea thanks for the correction. Chaka gets me so mad sometimes I focus on his ass. Sanchez is most definitely the present and the future.
Antuna knows how to place himself in dangerous positions and he has what Pizarro, Alvarado and others don't have. PACE. Super Sub for the next 8 years on lock my boi.
I think Antuna is a player who knows what it means to put the Mexican jersey on. I can’t remember the exact reason was but he was a (almost) cut off when Martino first came on during the Gold Cup. He has excellent acceleration, great top end speed on his side and does pretty good centros. He had done nothing but respond when he comes in.
