Good win. NTH with a great goal, Ki's pass was beautiful. Good to see PCY on the scoresheet again. Too bad that freekick in the end didn't go in. It would've been a classy goal.
Embracing the captain role? Since the Olympic side is practically the KNT, I assume that he's being groomed to be the next captain for the KNT as well.
Other than the goal they scored, NZ had two other opportunities where if the Kiwis had better players, we might have been fcked... We need to continue sorting through some things before the Mexico match.
Must say though 2-1 against New Zealand is quite disappointing. Good to see the man of the moment PCY get on the score sheet
Goal by NZ was way too easy, where's the D? Trailing a few steps behind... Beauty of a pass by KSY for the 2nd goal, couldn't have thrown a better pass - pinpoint accuracy. Nice control with a defender right on you by NTH to create that space to take a shot.
Did you watch the match? Korea did everything right except finishing off easy chances (that, and leaving the NZ guy open in the box for that goal). Passing and ball-winning were all good. We know that KJC and JDW and PJY can finish. As long as they create and receive chances, they will score more often than not.
No wasn't able to catch the entirety of the match but of what I saw it was a good performance as to be expected against a side such as a New Zealand.
I don't know why you're so thrilled with the performance from this friendly. I saw various combinations and different positions being tried out. And still some problems defending the counterattack. And poor finishing. It's still a work in progress. Some good points but also some bad habits/points that needs to be addressed in the next week or so.
TBH I wasn't that happy with the performance today. The game was left hanging in the balance and had to be won in the final minutes by a moment of absolute brilliance by NTH and KSY (who was pretty horrible otherwise). It could have easily gone the other way and then all the dominance in the earlier part of the match would have been for nothing. I'm not sure if they got overconfident and let their foot off the gas in the second half, but I want to see us winning matches like this by a margin of 3 goals. That may sound unreasonable but look at the stats (possession, shots, shots on target, corners) and tell me it wasn't possible. New Zealand played a good match but let's be honest they are minnows. These kids need to get their stuff together because being this wasteful in the Olympics will have dire consequences. Also, some of the players I was hoping to see the most were also the most disappointing. KSY, KBK, BSD...and Jang Hyun-Soo is injured? WTF?!
