“Tricolor” se impuso 2x1 a Suecia
    Cuenca (CRE).-

    Alineaciones:

Ecuador: Giovanni Camacho; Jairo Montaño (Omar De Jesús), Renán Calle, Fricson George y Oscar Bagui (Fernando Guerrero); Alex Bolaños, Luis Caicedo, Eder Vaca (Walter Ayoví) y Cristian Lara (David Quiroz); Edmundo Zura (TA) (Felipe Caicedo) y Carlos Tenorio (Danny Vera).

    D.T. Luis Fernando Suárez.

Suecia: John Alvbage (Johan Wiland); Samuel Holmen (Stefan Izsahki), Hernan Montus (Daniel Mobaeck), Max von Schlebrugge, Markus Jonsson; Matías Concha, Owen Jeffrey, Niclas Alexandersson y Anders Svensson (Martin Ericsson); Rade Prica y Olof Guterstam (Daniel Nannskog).

    D.T. Lars Lagerback.

I can't believe azzhole Suarez had the balls to put Fricson George de defensa central. What in the world was he thinkin...luckly Sweden came with thier C squad. And then to top it off has balls to call Lucho Caidedo once again.
With every convocatoria this guy makes me hate him even more.

News: Amistoso Empate 1-1 Ecuador Suecia

News: Ecuador frente a Suecia - No Pudo

I'm cool with the game against Ireland,,,,but USA,Mexico.Peru,Bolivia??
That's a waste of time,,I think we should continue to play friendlies against Euro squads.
In fact I think we should have friendlies against African and Asian squads.
We all know that we can go mano a mano with european, concacrap, and comnebol teams, why not see how we perform against squads from those continents.

I agree. Our player need the experience especially since we are going to be in their territory come 2010.

It's their territory but it doesn't necesarily mean we will play a lot of African teams. maybe one during the group phase (let's qualify first though) and if we manage through possibly another. I agree that we could use more friendlies with African countries for the overall experience though.

No friendly is a waste of time. It gives the team the opportunity to mesh and the coach to try new things. In Europe every now and then the bigger teams play Luxemburg and Iceland. It happens. Ecuador playing South American teams is not only good for Copa America but for the qualifiers as well.

True, a few more diverse teams (Africa, Europe) would be great but their schedules are also so much different than ours. They uaually have European Cups, League championships and then the countries cup (Englad even has a fourth -the Carlin Cup), and then they have their duties to their National teams as well qualifying first for the Euro Cup and then the World Cup again.

I would like to see Cameroon, Ivory Coast (Kalou and Drogba), Nigeria play Ecuador as well.

ecuador has played african teams before...we played senegal in a friendly before the 02 world cup..we played that one tournament in egypt as i recall and i think we've had a few other games....more important is that our players learn from playing in europe where many african players make their careers....seeing how its highly unlikely that many fixtures of south america vs. africa to be on any ballot in the near future, the best bet is to get our guys there playing and studying their game, learning and adapting the good and gaining experience

I never said Ecuador hasn't played African teams before...I meant to say I would like to see more of them rather than S.A. teams if I had a choice. Just becuase we see them play the same teams over and over again. While I believe it is good anyway, it would just make it more interesting to see something else for a change - from a fans poiny of view.

I think it ultimatly "The Test" is to play European teams partly because of their pedegre as well as reputation...but also because we rarely play them in competition. Once again, for a fan to se Ecuador play Framce, England or Holland even Sweden and Poland was fun. And remember when they beat Romania before 2002 WC? That was awsome.
Same with Europe, many fans want to see them play Argentina or Brazil because they hardlly ever do meet (if they are lucky to meet them during a WC) but European countries play all the time (Euro Cups and WC and QM for both).

I don't think they can learn to much of how to succeed in Europe's leagues games for their own personal good by playing a European National Team though. They are two very different game styles. The best clubs all have African and South American players so you can't really say that playing England or Spain would help them have an idea of their leagues...they are way to diverse. I wasn't sure if that was what you meant.

I would like to see them play European countries not just for some learning experience but becuase it would be exciting as hell to watch!!
