You know, if he can be in the line-up when West Ham get back on track, it could be very good for his career.

I would imagine that if Pardew can find a formula for a win or two he will stick with it.

By the way, I hear Blackburn has a goalkeeper we should check out. ;)

Visited the grounds at Upton Park on Tuesday, chatted up with a barkeep and a fellow who gave us a tour of the dressing rooms and took us onto the pitch. They both thought highly of Spector.

JS -Had a couple giveaways, but has been comfortable mostly.

Freidel had no hope on the goal, but was hammered by the commentators earlier for tipping a hopeful cross right into the path of Hammers' attackers.

Been watching the match. Brad had no chance on the goal-- Teddy's header was absolutely beautiful and fit within a few inches of the post. Brad did make one bad play earlier in tipping out a cross that was going to no one and gifting WHU with a chance on goal.

Jon has played back a bit more, with most of WHU's offense going down the left side. He's sent in a few crosses (nothing special on any of them), and took Roberts out of the match with a completely clean tackle (he got the ball first, Robert twisted his ankle trying to avoid the slide). A solid game so far from Jon, but nothing spectacular.

Well said. I think his athleticism stands out certainly...but it seems clear he's still developing the technical skill set needed to be a fullback who can contribute to the attack.

But I everytime I see him play he gets better...and he has been delivering some crunching tackles and they are clean. His crossing will get better in time...he's still young.

His ability to play anywhere along the backline I think will make him a pretty sure call up for tournaments and pairs of qualifiers in the future.

Brilliant save off a corner from the West Ham keeper, West Ham immediately breaks the other way, Friedel with a fantastic save on Zamora, who was in all alone.

Exciting end to end stuff here in the last 25 or so minutes. A good example of why every match is meaningful (MLS, I'm looking in your direction).

He did, indeed. Though his crosses at times drew criticism from Sky's commentators (rightfully so, I think).

they could indeed have been better.

But pretty obvious the kid has serious talent. He looks very comfortable at the Premiership level

I just watched the entire game and I thought Spector was very solid. They were right though, the final ball that he played into the box almost never made it past the first defender. All together though, he had a very good game - very strong defending (and they pretty much sat back for the entire second half.)

Excellent game by Spector. Only thing keeping it from the "outstanding" category were his crosses. Doesn't require much more for him to improve those. Also, his right side defensive play was much more certain and had much more bite to it than did the guys on the left side defense. Very weak there.

an Americam defender with good skill on the ball. Have him bronzed ASAP. He is a fne player and will be with the USMNT for a very long time if he stays healthy.

it's the Hedjuk influence, man..... at least not as many upper row crosses, no....

Anyway, WH got a win after goodness knows how many games, and Spector was there.....so great regardless of the crosses........

No arguments here--nothing but positives from this match, and I didn't mean to nitpick.
