Corporate influence on US team selection?
That's what I was wondering. Does anybody know what he's talking about?
What are you talking about? I read the article and didn't see anything about the US team selection at all. Well, it's late and I missed it.
right before the last paragraph... maybe Nike influence?
I'd be delighted if any corporation give a rat's ass about USMNT rosters.
There was a rumor that the reason Kasey didn't get named to the Nats for so long was that he refused to agree to cover his glove logo.
All I can do is plead the late hour. It's there, no doubt about it, but I am still no closer to understanding what it means.
Heck, if Brad could be lured back into the fold, do it.
Brad...yer alright by me.
Or perhaps by "corporation" he means the USSF brass instead of the coaches?
i'd imagine there's a decent chance most of that stuff is from before the days of mls
when ussf was on a much smaller scale... and is also the reason why the ussf is still run by idiots... it got much bigger (re: $$$) very fast
in many regards, i liken the ussf to your neighbor's kids running a lemonade stand and the next day those same kids being put in charge of a decent sized corporation
calling Segroves for the Friedel manifesto ......
"Bling Free Zone" ... pretty good philosophy for the EPL these days.
outrageous parents and kids? he is spot on.
