Okay kids, what's your fave. I'll have to go with the Popeyes, though KFC's good, as is the Chester Fried stuff you get at Cub Foods.
My vote goes to Popeyes. Problem is there is only one Popeyes in the valley and it's kind of a pain in the ass to get to. There are an abundance of KFCs here though.
Dude, Bojangles. KFC if I have to, but the twister, not the chicken. Oh, and before you die, you should go to KFC in Japan. The secret recipe there is out of this world.
A Latin American chain called Pollo Campero is easily the best. They've just announced they will soon be enetring the U.S. market.
Which reminds me. I used to go to Pollo Tropical in Miami a lot, not because the chicken was especially good, but because it was crazy cheap. Well, that was until I found an actual Cuban joint that was better.
My grandma's (she's adds a bit of bacon grease to the oil) After that: Popeye's Church's KFC Bojangle's === Most places back in GA that have both 'Waffle' and 'Chicken' in their name .. Any place who has 'shack' in their name. Most all country cooking places.
Agreed - but not just in GA. Has no one else ever tried Roy Rogers' chicken? If you can find a Roy's (I think there's like 5 left in the country!), you've found the best chicken.
I drove 35 miles to have Popeye's chicken for Mardi Gras, just so it would be like home. KFC is 5 minutes away. There can be only one....Popeye's. Damn I miss home
I think I read a story about this chain somewhere. Apparantly, Salvadorans flying to the US will buy huge amounts of chicken to give to relatives or resell when they reach the US. Were talking about people flying with 150-200 pieces of chicken. The author said it was the best fried chicken he'd ever had.
Dude, where's our menus? I can't remember but the town was Abeline, KS. The Georgetown Hotel? That was right up there with the best. Anyway, Roy Rogers has a kickass fried chicken sandwich, much better than McChicken.
Popeye's is the best fried chicken. Hands down. I think I'd like El Pollo Loco for lunch today. Mmmmmmm . . . . .
There's one of those on Colfax I think. it's an El Pollo something, El Pollo Major if not Loco. Put it on my to get to list.
For fast food, Church's. Which I haven't had in a while. For restaurant, it's the specialty of the house at the main restaurant at Knott's Berry Farm in Orange County. Tasty stuff, proper chicken dinner, although I've gotten cold food there before (fortunately cold fried chicken kicks ass!!!!!!). It's hard to find any places up here in NoCal that specialize in a good southern chicken dinner (some place up in Orinda is supposed to be really good).
