So erm...for someone not living in a NFL or MLS market like Birmingham, are we not going to be able to see any soccer games?

 

My guess is you'll likely get 1 NFL and 1 MLS game, in some order, on 9/18 via local broadcast. (Or you could get two NFL games over the air.)

Contact your local FOX affiliate to learn more, and/or log on to fox sports go, apparently.

The carriage decisions and local-station/game assignments likely haven't been made yet in all markets, and perhaps your local FOX affiliate would appreciate your feedback and interest in seeing some specific MLS game.

Further proof that these types of signings are worth so much more to MLS than just their production on the field.

 

So, according the author, the league has experienced incredible growth over the past decade, despite stagnant TV ratings. But in the next sentence says that MLS can't grow without better TV ratings.
