Well, that's the flag of Iraq at the bottom of the badge, so I'm going to say that Al-Shorta Sports Club plays in the Iraq Stars League, Iraqi football's top tier.
FIFA 2025 Club World Cup: Which teams have qualified? | MLSSoccer.com They conveniently left off the details of the "host nation" slot...the cynic in me thinks they're waiting to see if Miami wins the Supporter's Shield to say that's how the last spot is given, but I'm personally hoping it goes to the team with the highest aggregate points the last 3 seasons or something similar (no idea who that would be, if I had to guess probably Columbus) since it wouldn't be fair to just do the MLS Cup or Supporter's Shield winner from this year.
I don't even think that's cynical at this point. US Soccer should have announced how that spot would be assigned a year ago. What reason do they have not to? It would take a 5-minute meeting to pick a method, unless you have r€a$ons to do something different.
I don't think they will blatantly undermine MLS Cup by giving it to Miami, but it probably does guarantee a CWC playoff between Miami and the MLS Cup winner. Which makes you wonder how it ties into the venues announcement. Will FIFA wait until mid-December? Announce the venues with the exception of the three group stage games for the host? And what happens if a Canadian team wins MLS Cup? Will there be a Canadian host city? Does it then just get handed to Miami on the basis that they are an American team?
