I’ll bet there’s an interesting story there. I like reading history and theology, so this is right in my wheelhouse…the reason the Netherlands and Belgium are separate isn’t language. Half of Belgium speaks Flemish, a variant/dialect of Dutch. No, the reason was to separate Catholics (Belgium) from Protestants (Netherlands.). So for a Dutch club to have the Madonna on its badge invites questions from nerds like me.
