Its a nice second half of a double-header of international soccer on the telle with the opener being Liverpool-Tottenham on ESPN2 from 1:00 pm ET-3:00 pm ET. I'm planning on recording those two matches though - I hope to be at a soccer match myself during that time. LB...
Comcast Sportsnet Bay Area (San Francisco) also has the match: DIRECTV Ch. 696 -- As expected, there are less than 5000 spectators at Red Bull Arena for Montpellier vs Lyon. Ligue 1 does NOT sell in the U.S. Period. FOX Soccer paid $1 plus transmission cost when it had the rights. Ditto Univision Deportes Network/Televisa. Comcast got involved for one purpose: to be able to "buddy up" to Sheik Al-Thani, Nasser, and Youssef. -- Cobi Jones is doing the analysis in English. I am assuming that Matthew Spiro is doing the play-by-play, though I am not 100% sure. (The announcer mentioned a traffic accident outside the stadium.)
Sorry to disappoint you, but there are definitely more than 5k there. Interestingly a lot of advertising for beIN Sports on the sideboards, but it's clearly for the French version.

"Announced crowd". Spiro may have been correct regarding the auto accident outside the stadium as well, as more people showed up for the 2nd half.
