Can anyone give me a weblink that shows the winners of the french league through history? Second question: Is Red Star from Paris a political team, and why do they have an english name? Thanks for any replies
The best place to research football history of any country is the rsssf site. http://www.rsssf.com/ For the French league results, check out: http://www.rsssf.com/tablesf/franchamp.html
any Red Star fans? Red Star 93 plays in Saint-Ouen ( a communist town for ages ) and was a "political" team before WW1.There is an interesting link about the setting up : http://www.allezredstar.com/archives/en_book1.htm http://www.allezredstar.com/en_hist.htm
I would be a Red Star fan if they were in the 1st or 2nd division. Its kinda hard to be a fan of a team in the 6th division.
yeah, that red star site is quite amazing. A lot of archives. Other footy sites should take notice. Most of them have next to zero archive stuff. iougs-
Wasn't St-Ouen where the "old" Parc des Princes was located? Everytime I think of Red Star, I also think of Heinnekin (that beer) Green and the red star? We talked about this a while back didn't we?
